He's quitting as Sale coach at the end of this season, but I haven't seen any announcement of what he's doing next, other than concentrate on his farming.

I hope not!

Robinson may have been a good player but never a coach.

Why do think Sale just avoided relegation?

Robinson was a Wigan, League and Union great - one of the true dual code legends.

However his strengths - speed off the mark, unpredictability and the ability to change direction are not skills that are easily taught to other players - so as much as I like him; I don't really see what he could bring as a coach considering he has been out of league for almost ten years.

Radlinski was an excellent addition to the coaching staff because no one worked harder or was more committed than he was - which makes him an excellent example to young players. He admitted himself that he wasn't the most naturally talented player - it was his hard work and determination (and loyalty to the club, when he came out of retirement) that saw him become a Wigan legend.

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

What's his name? There's no Robinson in the squad lists.

clearly not a sale fan then. nothing to do with the coaching staff at all. just a two year period of letting international players going, and replacing them with mediocre championship players.

off the top of my head
a kiwi centre
scotland winger
french back rower
argentian back rower (one of the top 3 or 4 players in the world) and his brother a international 2nd row
robinson himself
scottish back rower/2nd row
current english FB
england back rower
french hooker

it is similar to getting rid of
amos
pat
gleeson
sam
tommy
lockers
joel
fielden and
piggy

and replacing them with players from leigh.

I was just going to say something like what Jimlav said. Sale have a very poor squad at the moment and they have a lot of rebuilding to do if they ever going to be competative. They have a very poor squad which lost what few key players they had to injuries and that is no fault of Robinsons.
