Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

Sacha's at the bottom of Oldham St(I think) just off Picadilly and and the Britannia(Portland St?) just off Piccadilly usually has a banner up advertising cheap rooms.
Don't know about the quality of either.

Woooah
Avoid the Britania at all costs. Stayed there once. Never again. Absolutely awful.
For a comfortable, clean, pleasant place to stay, you won't go far wrong with the Premier Inn.
There are 3 in the city centre;
The MEN has the biggest rooms (if you book a family room) but the bar isn't great, and it's farthest from the metro (unless you're heading for Victoria)
Portland street is nice, good location, no complaints.
GMEX has the nicest breakfast by far, and a decent bar area too.
Both the above are close to Metro (Peter's Square) and Oxford Road (train to Wigan)
Jury's is nice, but not worth the extra you will pay.
If you want to splash out, the Radisson is really nice - If it's good enough for Simon Cowell it's good enough for me too!
Take your pick!

Which one did you stay in? We booked at the one on Portland St and when we got there they had overbooked but said they had rooms in the one on Charles St/Princess St, it wasn't very plesant.Wigan_forever1985 wrote:the ibis hotels pretty nice i stayed in that after a works do, not 5 star but not bad
The last hotel we used in Manchester was the Arora, think it was about £50-£60 for the night, nice and clean and the staff were nice to... and it's part owned by Sir Cliff, you can get a special Cliffy room!
Do the trees feel cold when the wind blows?
