Wigan 16 Warrington 23

Post by ancientnloyal »

It's going to be pretty quiet on here tonight.

On the Farrell 'no try' obviously it wasn't a try but Mathers knocked on when he stupidly attempted to collect the ball, it went forward, it came off tusons (i think) knee... it should have been scrum to wigan.

Still 2 clear, heads up lads.

With our kicking game leaving a lot to be desired why not introduce Deacon earlier?

Put another way, why have him on the bench and give him less game time than Feka?

Thought we did some things well early on and then just went to Noble style one up football (when we hadn't early on, despite the weather being worse), with predictable results.

Silverwood was good early on - although Anderson should have gone to the bin for the second late hit in less than 5 minutes. Tonight again proved if there is any doubt in a decision you DON'T want childs having anything to do with it.

We seemed to lack a little fluency, Amos is still not completely match fit; which was confirmed with Sam returning to fullback. Our man of the match was Pat; who played a belter despite the treatment the referee missed.

Obviously disappointed that we lost; however if we still pushed wire that close when we were below par - we should blow them off of the park when we play well.

I think that we missed we Coley tonight, Prescott dropped a lot of ball, as did Gleeson. Not having another hooker at interchange cost us - so here's hoping that Mickey Mac is back sooner rather than later. As has been said; if Deacon is going to get less than 10 minutes of game time; I'd sooner see Feka get a run - even if he's on his way out.

The future of the league leaders shield is still in our hands. Hopefully this will really fire them up to push on.

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

Looked like the saints match to me.Wigan dominate for 20 and score only 6 points. Then our forwards get hammered so we have no room for the backs to work. The control of the ball was poor and thats being polite,i lost count how many times they dropped it.Why they dont put high balls at mathers baffles me.It bothers me because they fail to compete when it matters again and i dont think wire look as good as people make out :(

In the words of the Hives "I hate to say I told you so", Wigan cannot win the big matches and will not win anything this season, not even the league.

Wigan were bullied by Warrington but also failed to take advantage of their opportunities. Also taking the two points shows that Wigan do not value their territorial advantage.

How on earth did we beat Wire away given how poor Mr Dave and Ian B think Wigan are. How on earth did the Wigan forwards dominate Wire tonight when both teams started the match fresh for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes are you really getting a fair comparison? Wigan could have won a game they did not deserve to win tonight and only lost it by 7 v a so called brilliant Wire team. They did that with 40% 2nd half completion, with several players missing and several players still in the early stages of returning from injuries. Wire had to win tonight. This man seems to sums it up pretty well

in first 20 mins should have been game over but are attacking was awful and reminded me a bit of saints game which we cant afford to do against teams like wire and saints. silverwood was poor but we CANT blame ref every time we lose. im not worried about as we will beat hull next week. think are only stumbling block left is leeds away even tho they are not playing well at moment.
