Re: Ganson arrested

The dipsticks at Red Hall will probably give the bent little git a bloody knighthood.Perhaps this frail old lady presumed to question his decision? Hope the real judiciary will send the bugger to prison for crimes against the rugby fraternity. Or better still just for breathing!

Steve Ganson update
Update on the Steve Ganson alledged assault on a 87 year old woman last night. Apparently Phil Bentham was there too, he's put the incident on report, sent Andy Coley to the sin bin and has penalised Wigan.
Shouldn't Be seeing Ganson Any time soon!

I know what you are referring to re the incident at the Holiday Inn but love him or hate him he's the ref I prefer in the middle. He got it wrong with Ablett but then it's an unwritten rule that no player in Amber & Blue gets sent off at Headingley and any player with the surname Tomkins deserves a smash to the jaw or a kick in the head.
The future's bright, it's cherry & white.

Steve Ganson Arrested
Quote:
Super League referee Steve Ganson, one of six full-time officials employed by the Rugby Football League, was forced to miss today's Challenge Cup semi-final after being arrested on suspicion of assault.
The 40-year-old from St Helens was held by police in the early hours following an altercation outside the Holiday Inn hotel in Haydock which left an 87-year-old woman seriously injured in hospital.
RFL media manager John Ledger confirmed that Ganson was being held in police custody.
'We aware of the incident and are monitoring the situation,' he said.
Ganson was due to be video referee for the tie between Warrington and Catalans Dragons at Widnes and was replaced by Oldham's Ian Smith.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: 'Officers were called to the hotel just after midnight following reports of an altercation involving several people.
'On arrival they arrested a 40-year-old St Helens man on suspicion of Section 20 assault. He is currently in police custody.
'An 87-year-old woman, also from St Helens, was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured hip and cuts to her arm. She is currently undergoing treatment there.
'No-one else was arrested during the incident, which happened outside the hotel in Lodge Lane"
If true, hope the RFL give him the boot!!!

Shame about Ganson getting arrested. I hope Bentham will have some video evidence that will put him in the clear!!!!
Following a Judicial Review of my computer, I hope I have now resolved my inability to participate
