Discipline

Post by Kiwiseddon »

Thought we gave away very few penalties. We've been saying that our discipline (if we kept it) would win us the game. I thought it did. Superb lads!

Also for a fairly average first half, thought it really mattered going in at half time ahead.

Thats what won the game. For all the the pre match hype the game was flat - in as much as we took everything in our stride. Taking the first 2 pts from a penalty instead of kicking into the corer for a poss 4 struck me that the team had been instructed to take it easy, ride the storm and win the game over 80 mins and not in the first 20.
Overall it was a comfortable win -we played well but were never realy stretched, we are better than Leeds and showed it in every department. Defence and composure was awesome.
Same next week, its only the Cunningham factor and their grand final experience to over come. Other than those 2 we are by far he better side.
MM has been a revelation - if we are this good with essentially last years team with 3 (min??) top class NRL signings we may be untouchable next year

All can say is well done, especially Joel. he has been a bit of a penalty machine this year and leeds targeted Sam early to try for a response, Everyone held there cool and we won easy, Most penalties against us were dubious especially Joel on the midget
