It does not matter how good you are

If you haven't got the ball you cannot win. The posession stats will be shocking especially in the second half. Our lads did fantastically well to achieve what they did. They were rightly shattered.

Funny how few stats were shown on TV, Tackles, possession etc. Saints had most of the ball and territory,

I hope the RFL don't kill the game, but today was not a good advert for their interpretations etc. Time Cummings went.

By promoting refereeing decisions giving advantage to the attacking team trying to go forward it looks like the RFL are full blown on trying to erradicate the so called "wrestling tackle" tactics that Wigan adopted last season and Huddersfield the season before.
All the negative media hype by plastic coaches like Kear and Agar may have started to take effect.

Makes you wonder if the rule changes were discussed under the one agenda of 'How Can We Stop Wigan?'.

I have every confidence that Madge can adapt his tactics to accommodate whatever they throw at us. He is the ultimate professional!

correct, the worry is it'll become like basket ball where teams basically take it in turns scoring and you lose too many cheap points for the slightest of infringements. Its so one dimensional.
Gareth Thomas before his first game: "You wanna spend 10 mins getting smashed up by these guys..Big dudes here.."

I would have thought the RFL would have had a duty of care to privide SL clubs with all their intended changes for the forthecoming season.
If the change of advantage being given to the attacking team going forward with imputus has been implemented, we may need to make some changes based on yesterdays performance.
Not even Wigan can expect to win matches if having to defend for 70% of the game.
