Madge to Souths?

Post by 100% Warrior »

Hope this doesn't turn out to be true, we can do without losing Madge just as he's got us challenging for trophies.

Although the lure of winning a Premiership with Souths would turn any coachs head.

Merged, already a thread on this on Rumour Mill.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Many coaches have come and gone recently at Souths but still NO premiership. I don`t think they have the WINNING ATTITUDE.

Maybe Rusty could coach the bunnies himself & use his drummers as motivation

Seriously !!

He needs to get over the american attitude that you buy success.Wigan proved last season............
Success is about team attitude not money

Well if it is treated like the Martin Gleeson affair then if it is true the club will say nothing. If it is false they will hopefully come out and say so. Simples
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

According to what Bilko has been told, we should ignore these rumours. Madge has a 3 year contract!

Well I hope so because if true it's bad news all round. Wigan would be seen as unable to keep a top coach to his contract (unless there is a get out clause which would mean IL negotiated a poor deal in the first place). Madge would be as bad as Noble for negotiating with another club which he would have to have been doing. Worse in fact as it is so early in his contract. And at the end of the day it would reinforce the idea contracts are things not to be honoured.

I don't think Madge is the sort to walk out early so hopefully Bilko is right.

I seem to remember Madge saying that he wanted to build on success with Wigan and I believe that will be the case. Also, how would it look to future employers if he did leave without finishing the job ? I know if I was an employer I would look unfavourably on anyone who was not willing to fulfill a contract. And opting instead for the money instead. And in my own mind I do believe that Madge is a much bigger man than that! And will see out his contract. :D
