Bad news coming from Orrell that he's been airlifted to hospital. Air ambulance had to land on the pitch

Correct, game was stopped for around 15 mins. Jonny was hit with the ball, think it was under his chin which sort of knocked him out& then he hit the ground hard.

Air Ambulance landed on the pitch the restart for the second half was delayed for about 20 mins.

Not sure where he was airlifted to, maybe Preston.

Hope he is okay. You know it must have been bad for Jonny to stay down.

Thanks for that Josie knew someone on here would have been able to shed a little more light on it.

It looked really bad.

Jonny was cheered & clapped as he was taken to the helicopter & managed a wave to the fans which was good to see :)

Lets hope it was all precautionary & that he makes a speedy recovery :)

I wouldn't necessarily read too much into the helicopter arriving. When calling the Emergency Services, the operator has to make a decision based on the information given. Any suggestion of a neck injury usually brings the Air Ambulance out. In the meantime, instructions are not to move the injured person. This inevitable delay obviously adds to the concern off the pitch.

A few years ago, it came out for one of our Under 14 players. The lad played the following week!

Hopefully by tomorrow, Jonny will have been given a new nickname!

Just had a text from assistant coach, Jonny is fine thankfully :)

He can't remember anything but did say when he found he was strapped to the stretcher being carried to the chopper

"What's going on, get me off this thing, it's fu****g embarrassing"!!

Glad to see he still had a sense of humour :)
