Will we have to play Cas on Sunday?

Post by Red Hot Mama »

Given that we have 3 players in the Exiles team and now 4 players in the England team, will we have to play on Sunday v Cas? If we can't play we will then have 2 games in hand and both against Cas. Lots of unaswered questions. How stupid of the RFL to put an 'International' game on with a full league programme!

First of all, welcome back Mama! :D

Yes. We have to play cos I've bought my ticket. BTW, each side is limited to 3 per club IIRC but I agree with you. Timing of this is bloody awful. Meaningless Exiles game should have been played after the GF. RFL couldn't find their arses with both hands!

Can I just get this right, we will have Lockers, Sam, Joel, MM, Tommy, George and Pat all missing definately on Sunday and they will have Chase missing? Or could the players play if the coach and players agree they are upto 2 games in 3 days? Somebody enlighten me please! I am worried at the moment!

Thank you :D

I recall the 3 player rule but we have Sam, Joel and Lockers named. Today they have called up Mickey Mac. This together with Tommy, Pat and George makes the 7. I like the idea of the game as we need the International 'practice' so to speak. However, typical RFL putting a league programme on at the same time is suicidal for the better clubs. Just like the Magic Weekends additional fixture of playing Saints. Oh dear I'm depressing myself lol

Sorry Red Hot, but we really don't need these practice games in the middle of our season, especially when you think of how much info that nobhead Mcnamara will gain from this with NO internationals on the horizon. When these games do come round he'll be long forgotten. It's just a financial venture, fabricated by those turkeys at Red Hall.

This is once again a disgrace, last year we had three players play 2 games in 2 days this year looks like up to 7 first team players could either miss out or play twice in a weekend. Also not forgeting the 3 games in 9 days we have next month. Nothing like making sure we dont win it again, looking at the club website looks like cas game will be played sunday as tickets still selling, RFL GET A GRIP

Can't believe people are only just showing concern on here. I voiced my opinions as soon as this daft fixture was announced, but at that time the talk was all about who would make the teams!

And as for Mickey Mac, let's look at McNamara's thought process for making his selection:

Hooker. Kevin Cunningham. Oh yea, retired. Hang on, who took over? Ah, Jack Roby. Must be good. He beat Trent Robinson to the Man of Steel didn't he. Or was it the Lance Todd? Anyroadup, we'll have him!

What?? Roby injured? Who else have we got? Ah, got it. Him off Wigan. Started in the Grand Final ahead of that Mike Riddell. Micky summat or other. We'll give him a go.

God this is an easy job. Wonder who's doin it!

I showed concern about this game when it was announced too.
For a start, it should have been on a SL free weekend whether at the beginning, middle or end of the season.

Plus, I don't like the idea of our players being subjected to the coaching skills of an idiot who was as pathetic as a club coach, as a club player as he is as an international coach.

How the hell did he get this job??? Oh wait, let me see now :eusa16: He knew he was going to be sacked by Bradford so persuaded the RFL that he could do the job full time so saving face!!

I find it unacceptable that some teams will have up to six players out of their first team squad, while others will not have any picked at all.

Then they say we play too many games, the players are knackered come the end of the season & that is why our international game is so poor!!!

The bloody RFL cause all these problems themselves & who gains anything by being humiliated time & again by the Aussies & Kiwis? Not the players that's for sure
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

The exiles game is sure making it tough for us.

Having already got our Cas and Stains tickets we shall be going but I can see two hard games, maybe a defeat or even two.

Hopefully we win both.
