Time of Our Lives Postponed

Post by josie andrews »

It is with regret that the Wigan RL Past Players Association have had to cancel Wednesday's Time of Our Lives event.

The event was due to take place at Goose Green Labour Club with Colin Clarke, Eric Ashby, and Cliff Hill. The PPA apologises for any inconvenience or disappointment that this causes.

Anyone who has purchased a ticket for this event can receive a full refund by contacting the DW Stadium Ticket Office or phoning the Ticket Hotline on 0871 66-33-552.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I thought that may have been the reason, but didn't like to say. It seems that the last couple of events have been cancelled because of lack of support :(

as harsh as it sounds, i think it's a sign of pressing financial times... Everyone is squeezing to get as much out of us as possible...

I think they would be pleasantly impressed at walk up figures for such events. People will not pre purchase IMO. An alternative would be to have the event close to Orrell prior to/post an U18/20s fixture. Even a first team fixture using say Robin Park Arena.

My Dad and his mate were really looking forward to this and were gutted when I told them it had been cancelled. When you consider people in the 60's/70's would have been must interested in this event I am disappointed how this has been handled from initially advertising it and now cancelling it. I have only seen it advertised on the net and people of that generation tend not to use it as much if at all. I told my Dad initially about the event and also had to tell him that it had been cancelled otherwise he would have turned up and been even more disappointed, I would like to know if anyone did turn up on the night??
