Wire -v- Wigan CC Quarter final dropped by BBC

Post by Sutty »

Just read this on Twitter:

wiganrlfans cherryandwhite.co.uk
So the BBC have dumped the beastly Wire v Wigan Cup Tie to BBC TWO to show Horse Racing on BBC ONE! Time to Dump them off!

Had it been confirmed that we were on the BBC on that day? If so, it's an absolute disgrace and yet another example of just what the media thinks of our great game

It was confirmed as one of the BBC showings and i am almost certain it was always going to be on BBC2. I go on hols on the 23rd and made a mental note that i could see BBC2 anywhere

I think the poster on Twitter is referring to the fact the Saturday games are usually on BBC1

they have chosen Horse Racing over what promises to be one of the best matches of the season? Its probably safe to say that the winner of the match will take the Cup too...

The BBC are muppets, Dumping F1 to BBC3/4 too trying to assist in its raitings (the channel that is)

Just because they want to show a load of rubbish, they are pushing the things people actually want to watch around so it looks like they have good ratings on all their channels.

Unfortunately the races make more money and will take more viewings and to the bbc that is all that matters! The beeb have no respect for rugby league and Im not sure if they ever will, maybe its time for sky to win the bidding next time its up!

I've said it time & time again the Beeb are not interested in RL in the slightest. They have a crap programme in the SL show!! They pull the strings in regard to when & if games are shown & it was mostly through them the CC Final was moved from May to bloody August because of the football :sly:

Plus they charge an extortionate price for a flippin licence that shows more repeats than my hiatus hernia

Rant over

How does racing make the BBC more money? I am also fairly sure that it doesnt get more viewers bar the Grand National.

You would be surprised! I love horse racing & I think it is a big Race event on the same day King George or summat? But you would think just for once they would move the racing :(
