If he thinks Dire is a better move than us, then good riddance I say!

Ratchford is a good young player who will get better. He could turn out to be a big miss for us. Nevertheless, the lad has made his mind up and we must all move on.

Wonder if they are thinking of letting Briers go?
he's not getting any younger, and I think there was more
to him not playing on Saturday than they are letting on
He looked fed up to the back teeth. :exc: :exc:

Yep Ratchford is a good player of that i have no doubt. But I could not give a toss about any player who does not wish to play for us.His loss our gain!We have youngsters coming through the system who would die to wear the famous cherry and white. Those are the kind of players i wish to see playing for us.Not a player who dithers about do i play for dire wire or the glorious cherry and whites.Wrong option Ratchford you should have chosen the best of the best not second best. :D

Mr Lenegan will of course be informing RFL HQ of the full details of the contract we placed in front of him.

I'm wondering if this is all down to the agents? Then again, maybe we are just pretending to enter a Dutch Auction just to bite into Wires Salary Cap? We did the same with Paul Wood last month!

Nice work Ian!

My thoughts re: Ratchford

He is an exceptional talent and at first was a little gutted we lost the chase then I started to have a think, where would he fit in at Wigan????

IMO Ratchford has the makings for a good centre or stand off, we have Finch when Finch leaves we have the prospect of Powell, at 7 we have Deacs when he hangs his boots up Im salivating to see Mellor get his chance, in the centres we have George who has just signed on, when he hangs up his boots we have Acton or Charnley to fill in on that side, at the moment we have Joel on the other side and to be honest I really am growing with him staying there not only do I think he is growing week by week he is exactly what we need internationally to beat the Aussies and Kiwis now I know he is not quite ready for that yet but he will be and he will be a lot better than Whelam Yeamon Bridge Shenton etc etc etc

Which leaves me where I started where would Ratch fit in at Wigan?

Good luck at Wire though mate!

Ratchford apparently spoke to both Warrington & Wigan but was swayed by the freebies that Wire can provide above the normal contract agreement.
I mentioned this some weeks ago.
If the powers that be in Wigan RLFC are aware of this, why do they not raise the issue with the RFL, as surely it is cheating the cap rules.
