1984 - First ever visit. Fantastic day and brilliant night in the West End before the midnight train home. Scoreline soon forgotten!
1985 - One of the best finals ever. Winning comfortably till Danny Campbell came off the bench, then praying for the clock to tick down before Hull stole the game!
1989 - Sorted our own coach. Rob Bradshaw came with us. Week after, a small cherry & white wreath appeared in the Garden of Remembrance at Wigan Parish Church with the message “We did em this time Dad. 27-0!”

1990 first visit, told to be wary of Wire fans, had a great time.

COME ON YOU WIGAN

Seeing Wigam win at Wembley for the first time after watching Stains and Dire win over the last 4 years.
The atmosphere at the last 4 finals at Wembley was great just cant start to imagine what it will be like when we win this year .
Will probably do an Old Trafford and have a good GREET .

Re: What does Wembley mean to you?
I waited a long long time before I could go to Wembley.
When I finally went, vs Widnes, with my two young sons I remember being gob smacked by the size and atmosphere of the place.
Something else I remember only too well, was being down to my last £ and asking McDonalds if they would accept a cheque!!!
Then, I re-married and never missed another one! The effect on my wife was the same.
Wish I could go this year but.......age, illness make it impossible.
However, once you've being there you never forget the atmosphere and all the spectators mingling with each other and the mounted police smiling at the happy spectators.
Apparently, the Police queue up to volunteer to do the RL Cup Final because there is no crowd trouble!! Unlike football eh?
I have been to the new Wembley from Germany, via Paris using trains!

Our heritage, our history, one of the reasons why we are the most famous club in British RL.

Nothing unless we win. Somebody asked me this week if I would swap a Wembley win for a Grand Final victory - the answer is an emphatic no! Then again, I am greedy, I want both.

Re: What does Wembley mean to you?
I think it was the last time we won it in 2002 against
the dreaded enemy.
According to the media, and indeed the Saints club,we had
no chance whatsoever. In fact I remember being afraid to watch it.
The look on the Saints players faces as they
sunk to the floor at the end was just priceless.
They really believed they had a divine right to the cup and were totally gobsmacked....brilliant..just bloody brilliant!
Obviously the eight in a row is another good memory, and 27-0.but that one in 2002 will stay with me forever. :thum: :thum:
