Magners Become Official Partner in 2012

Wigan Warriors today unveil Magners Irish Cider as a new partner of the Club from 2012.

Magners are an internationally recognised brand that have been involved in the sports industry for a number of years having sponsored the rugby union Celtic League for the last four years. They have also been the headline sponsor of various events like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

The partnership with the Warriors is a two year deal and is built on the back of their Match Sponsorship of this season's Big One 3 game against Huddersfield Giants back in June which attracted a crowd of over 19,000 fans to the DW Stadium.

Speaking after the announcement, Magners GB Ltd National Account Executive, Neil Leamey, said,

"As the saying goes ‘There's Method in the Magners' and we certainly see this partnership as a great opportunity that allows us to increase the profile for our brand. The Big One 3 was a huge success and we all thoroughly enjoyed the day.

"We look forward to what will undoubtedly be a great partnership and wish Wigan Warriors further success on the pitch for the next two seasons and beyond."

Part of the new deal will now see Magners appear on the sleeve of the brand new 2012 home and away shirts which will be revealed in the coming months.

Wigan Warriors Sales Director Geoff Warburton added:

"We have enjoyed working with Magners and their team already with the Big One 3 and look forward to seeing our partnership going from strength to strength. Magners is a prestigious brand, which we will be very proud to have on our playing and replica shirts from next season."
