Sean Long ponders GB Retirement...

Post by robjoenz »

It's in this weeks League Express that Sean Long is seriously considering international retirement due to the way the RFL treated him over breaking sporting laws. He is still seething at the heavy punishment they gave him. Is it me or does this mans arrogance know no boundaries? (I'm sure it's not just me).

To be honest I hope it is the case, we might stop trying in vain to get him to play a decent GB performance and give someone else a chance.

He also makes a complaint about it "becoming a ten month season with the Tri-Nations... which is a lot to expect from top players." Yes Sean, but how does that affect your type of player?

Well after his poor perfomances overall in the Tri-nations and historically for GB it would hardly be a loss.

Time to give another guy ago.... assuming Danny McGuire is going to be first choice at 6 for a while we could do worse than Rob Burrow at 7

A stains player that complains when he is punished for breaking the rules? No, I can't believe it! It must be a first!

Gleeson was banned for longer and didn't whine half as much - that's probably why he left!

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

He looks like the Robbie Savage of Rugby League and now he cries like him too.

If you break the rules, you get punished. End of discussion.

Could it not be because hes realised he plays crap for gb and could lose his place, so to remain what little dignity he has hes planning on retiring. I havent heard gleeson really complain that much at all whereas its all longy seems to do
