Spot on. He still suffers from the same problems he suffered while with us.cherry.pie wrote:Tim Smith has bags of quality but almost no consistency. He's one of the best passers in Super League when he's on his game but when he isn't then he can throw some shockers. He lacks self discipline to really put the hard work in when things aren't going well.
I'd also be concerned about his defence and whether it has improved enough since his first time at Wigan.
There aren't many good halfbacks available at the moment unfortunately but I think Powell will get his chance next year, whether it's with Finch or whoever can be signed to replace him.

I wonder if Russell is at Hull to hone his FB skills with a view to returning Sam to 6 next season?

If we're not promoting from within or shifting Sam from 1 to 6 then the only SL half back I'd look at is Brough other than that it looks like we'll be looking at overseas signings again ... problem is we know what trouble that can cause when they decide mid-contract that they want to head off back to the NRL.
It's about time there was an agreement between the RFL and NRL that some form of compensation/transfer fee should be paid if a player leaves mid-contract.
