Everythings great on the field of play but is there a fire drill? Why change a winning squad?
We need big marquee replacements for the likes of Tommy and Finch IMO in the half back positions, can't put the burden on young lads to lead us round the field, they won't all be made of Sam's stuff.
I look at other squads and although it is largely full of weaker players than ours surely they're paying more on the cap than we are? Who's on big money at Wigan?
We all new about Carmont and Tommy. Both seen their contract out so fair enough. Great value players for us and despite this being their final season with us they look as committed as ever. It's probably because they realise if you sign a contract you honour it and get on with your job. Respect is due to both players.
Finch has done the same and given the fact Tommy is off I'd have no problem him being paid a big wage to stay.
Lima has gone. Great player but unprofessional as far as contracts go.
As ive said before finch is the hardest if not near impossible to replace he is the one id be chucking the money at.
Carmont and Lima are both very very good players but are replaceable i just dont see if finch left who you could bring in (realistically) to replace him
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
I think the title of the thread is a little silly to be honest, we are not getting rid of a winning team at all.
Carmont - Retiring (how is that us getting rid of him?)
Tommy - Contract Ends and wants to return home (again us not getting rid of him!)
Lima - Ok we are letting him go with a year on his contract but there could be a very good reason as to why and not just because we are weak and giving in.
Finch - Has he left yet? Have we got rid of him?
When all 4 of these players leave or if all 4 leave, have faith that we will still be a winning team in 2013 because I do.

You beat me to it the thread title is silly & misleading.
The only one I take umbrage with is Lima reneging on his contract.
Tommy is only going for to NZ Warriors for three years to prove himself in that comp, &, from what I've been told, he wants to come back & finish his career here in SL, at Wigan if possible.

that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

No one is irreplaceble, the team may suffer slightly whilst the replacements settle in and get used to systems etc.
Players come and go all the time so all this is just over dramatising this very fact.
KEEP THE FAITH !
I think we all accept players come and go its the amount of experienced and or/world class players you let go at any point. The last time we did similar was 2004/2005 and while i dont envisage us panic buying and our youth team is in a much better state we still cant pretend that losing lulu and finch esp would be pretty devastating unless suitable replacement came in of which i cant actually think of a realistic one.

But we've known all along that Tommy was leaving and Finchy's contract runs out this year. I'm sure the club are on top of it!

Dave, did Jeff Lima not sign a two year contact with the option to extend if he so wished ?

Not forgetting of course that George is giving us an extra year, he was due to retire at the end of last season!!
after scoring that try on the weekend could he have another year in him?
I wish
He even said in the interview after the game, you never know what will happen!!!

Sorry to see big Jeff leave us as I am over Tommy and George. But would people please stop talking as though Finch as already decided to leave. We are not aware of the goings on behind the scene.I'm sure both IL and SW have made it clear to Finchy that he is a valued member of a team that as the potential to become a great team with him at the heart of it.IL is a shrewd operator and will not be held to ransom but will offer what he feels Finch is worth.I do honestly believe that he will sign a new contract and that that contract is with Wigan and not an inferior club.Lets just wait and see what the outcome is before consigning Finch to history.
