Lloyd a centre, Gelling a forward
Re: Lloyd a centre, Gelling a forward
I think one of these should be on the bench for most games - that is we dont go with a back up hooker
bench of two props, one second row (Hock or Farrell) and then one of these two - to cover the backs as well

After what I've just witnessed I wouldn't have either of these 2 in the team, if you want a forward who could play in the backs then maybe Thornley.

I must agree Fickle Gelling had a stinker at Leigh wasn`t good enough for the Championship .

What actually did Gelling do wrong? Was you watching the same game? He was one of, if not, the best on the pitch! I think people are focusing on a few errors he did last season and using him as a scapegoat constantly, I rate him today a lot more than Thornley. You cannot argue that gelling puts in 100% and for me Thornley is just lazy. With this added size Gelling's got I'm looking forward to seeing him this season I think he could be a real handful.

Gelling was the experienced player on the left side, but all the breaks was on that side. After one break in the fist half it took him 2 tackles to get back in position and it wasn't long after that he was taken off. When he returned in the 2nd half all he did was kick the ball, everytime he got it.
Last year I thought he had potential, but he looks to have bulkd up a bit to much for me and his fitness has suffered. Bet his knees are aching in the morning as his hands where on them a lot.
Only thing is, is you can't judge a player in a poor team so will happily give him another go and hope he does well.

Gelling was actually taken off due to a tight lower back and the tries were scored on his side but the winger and centre were to blame not the second row and yes he was blowing due to the effort he was putting in as for the youngsters if they are our future it will not be a bright one
