Prescott out for 12 weeks
Prescott out for 12 weeks
Phil Wilkinson has tweeted Preccy needs a back operation and will be out for 12 weeks as a result.
As he was one of our more experienced players just goes to show we should have kept Fielden. We are seriously lacking experienced players and while the young players have done us proud I doubt they can keep it up for week after week.

Why would anyone in their right mind want to keep a player who has stole a living for the past 2 seasons, chances are he'll be re-injured in the coming weeks, best thing we did in a long while was get ridDaveO wrote:Phil Wilkinson has tweeted Preccy needs a back operation and will be out for 12 weeks as a result.

Will you still be saying that if he has a good season for Hudds?medlocke wrote:Why would anyone in their right mind want to keep a player who has stole a living for the past 2 seasons, chances are he'll be re-injured in the coming weeks, best thing we did in a long while was get ridDaveO wrote:Phil Wilkinson has tweeted Preccy needs a back operation and will be out for 12 weeks as a result.

He is playing well for them at the minute and a darn sight better than Preccy is able to for us so why are people obsessed with two years previously? He had a long term injury but really, where does this stolen a living bs come from?
If there is a concern over a players long term viability its got to be for Prescott who is having the sort of op a veteran may expect not such a relatively young player
Add to the fact it was a plain as day we had a very inexperienced squad this season and good experienced players are not exactly ten a penny it seems crazy to have let him leave so readily.
Re: Prescott out for 12 weeks
He may be playing well for them at the moment Dave but could that be down to the enthusiasm of playing for a new club, the fact is he was payed to play for those two seasons, he didn't do what he was told and re-injured himself, sorry but if a player has not played for 2 seasons no matter who he is then it's bye bye imo, we aren't running a charity for former top players, a lot of fans rattle on about him like he is still the player he was at Bradford, theres no room for sentimentality in this day and age, we need to be ruthless and anybody that doesn't cut the mustard are gone, would a player who had been out for 2 seasons back in the heydays get another contract? No, Uncle Mo would have sent them on their bike, as for Prescott maybe the club should put his health first and talk him into retiring, the guy is going to be well knackered when he's older if he carries on like he's doingDaveO wrote:Will you still be saying that if he has a good season for Hudds?medlocke wrote:Why would anyone in their right mind want to keep a player who has stole a living for the past 2 seasons, chances are he'll be re-injured in the coming weeks, best thing we did in a long while was get ridDaveO wrote:Phil Wilkinson has tweeted Preccy needs a back operation and will be out for 12 weeks as a result.

Re: Prescott out for 12 weeks
if this is true then it may be about time we got rid of preccy.
I know that is really harsh and on his day he is up there as a very good player but the lad seems to be made of tissue paper, he never puts a decent run together and in the modern day climate can we afford to have a treatment table warmer.
I do feel for the lad and i know this is his living but for me if this injury is true its time to get rid.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

I don't think there would have been anything charitable about it. I don't care what went on in those two years because I can see that it's (or was) a case of "needs must".medlocke wrote: He may be playing well for them at the moment Dave but could that be down to the enthusiasm of playing for a new club, the fact is he was payed to play for those two seasons, he didn't do what he was told and re-injured himself, sorry but if a player has not played for 2 seasons no matter who he is then it's bye bye imo, we aren't running a charity for former top players, a lot of fans rattle on about him like he is still the player he was at Bradford, theres no room for sentimentality in this day and age, we need to be ruthless and anybody that doesn't cut the mustard are gone, would a player who had been out for 2 seasons back in the heydays get another contract? Wane seems to have a lot of faith in a lot of young players who he brought through the ranks. He must do to let Fielden go when we lost Lima. I think he is being a bit naive because with Preccy out this is IMO going to put too much strain on the younger players.
There is only one positive from this and that is if Preccy does recover and resumes playing and Hansen gets back they are going to be quite fresh for the business end of the season.

he has two big injury spells a season - i would say out of the last six season has he played more than 50% of the games?

I don't think he has. And even when he's not injured, you only have to look at him twice and he bleeds. I feel genuinely sorry for this lad because he has the ability and commitment but may have his dreams cruelly shattered through no fault of his own!thomo wrote:he has two big injury spells a season - i would say out of the last six season has he played more than 50% of the games?
