Gaz Hock
Just heard, Gaz hock is set to renegue on his Parramatta deal to join Salford!!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

He'd still be contracted to us if he chose not to go to Parramatta.josie andrews wrote:Just heard, Gaz hock is set to renegue on his Parramatta deal to join Salford!!
So if he has done this I'd hope any Salford deal would be a loan deal as at Widnes with the same can't play against us clause.

Re: Gaz Hock
Or do we get a decent transfer fee for him, knowing that the doctor is willing to splash the cash? Surely we could get a larger fee from Salford than parramatta?
My personal opinion: sell him. He needs a career away from Wigan now, IMO he won't play for us again. If he is to go back on the deal with Parramatta, that says a lot about his character. I don't know him personally or all the ins and outs with what's happened at Wigan, but my general feeling is that his personal morals do not come into his thoughts.
Great player but I do not want him at Wigan.

Nor me, I wouldn't think IL would have him back anyway.
But - for England and the World Cup, yes I would take a punt on him. I know he's a risk but also a world class second row who we'd need against the Kiwis and Aussies. Hope that doesn't sound too hypocritical ?

No I agree, if I was Macnamara I'd select him. He is world class. Fact.Nezza Faz wrote:Nor me, I wouldn't think IL would have him back anyway.

I think it's SW who doesn't want him.
Re: Gaz Hock
When we lose Sam, Hock would be a good player to have back as he is another one of those players that can really destroy an opponent on his own. Whether what he does is always for the good of his team is another matter, but you should never completely dismiss a player of his abilities.Kittwazzer wrote:He would. If he goes to Salford I assume it would be on a transfer but IL would ask for a higher fee that the reported Eels fee. But, didn't he have the option to wait out for a deal at Salford for this season when the Doc was coming in? That makes it a strange one for me, then again money talks.

Really, when i think of World class 2nd rowers i think of Nathan Hindmarch, Ryan Hoffman, Anthony Watmaugh etc, not a player that has the ability to be a top class player but only shows that abaility in 3 or 4 games a season because he is too dumb giving away penalties, loose ball or getting banned for the rest of the season, maybe have him on the bench for England but nothingNeeNawWarrior22 wrote:No I agree, if I was Macnamara I'd select him. He is a game changer though, even more so than the players you've quoted.medlocke wrote:Really, when i think of World class 2nd rowers i think of Nathan Hindmarch, Ryan Hoffman, Anthony Watmaugh etc, not a player that has the ability to be a top class player but only shows that abaility in 3 or 4 games a season because he is too dumb giving away penalties, loose ball or getting banned for the rest of the season, maybe have him on the bench for England but nothingNeeNawWarrior22 wrote:No I agree, if I was Macnamara I'd select him. Don't think we'll see him playing at Wigan again as IL will not pay what Hock can pick up elsewhere
