Re: Stephen Jones is not very nice
Mike, I like the bit about how he will have to get fitter, presumably for running from one side of the field to the other for one of the 30 odd lineouts, but he should be able to recover as he waits to pack down for one of the 25 scrums.
I put this remark on a par with Stuart Barnes in the Telegraph when Jason Robinson was picked as full back when he said 'no one has ever seen him have to make a one on one tackle, I suspect a league winger, apart from touching the ball about 1000 more in a season than a union winger, probably makes around 250/300 tackles a season as well.
Still it is nice to be appreciated.
Of course we need to hear what that sage of RU one DaiJones thinks about this article first.
PS Mike, later in the evening I see that you have had your legs smacked by MrsLam who reminded you that it was a family board with the title change, I've changed the title on my posting but your original heading is still there on ChrisA's. posting. :conf:

Re: Stephen Jones is a C*...
i take the Times daily - when I read that utter tosh this morning I was reminded of a phrase my old Dad was fond of saying when dealing with people who couldn't see the obvious.
" You can't put in what God left out"
" You can't put in what God left out"
Re: Stephen Jones is not very...
Stephen Jones wrote a 2 page article shortly before Jason went to union on why they didn't need him. He also named several players in union that were better than him. In a couple of years he will be drooling over Faz as he is with Jason!
Re: Stephen Jones is not very...
Right as a Welshman i hope that arragent W.....r gets his f....g legs broken in the next match. To be honest i've alwasys thought of myself as a Northener more than a Welshman. Wales has done sod all for me i hate South Walians more than anyone else. Like to take the piss out of the Saints but doi not hate.Mike posted:

Like Norman Tebbit once said you know which country you are from with the cricket team u support.
Week Saturday i watched the Wales match like a nun listening to a sermon motionless and when the whisltle went i went for a 4 mile run in a Wigan shirt got home watched a film went to sleep.
Friday i got up 8am full of trepedation about the match worried about the impending hammering that was about to happen, went shopping pissed off my mates could not go to the match so therefore i was up shit creek did not fancy going up on my own in holiday traffic from Caernarfon. Come 12.30 the heart starts pumping come 1250 i was going mental 12-0 up got agitated when they went ahead. Got worried as the second half got going. Every 5 minute tension getting worse thinking a 20-20 draw would be great when injuries happened then Tickle put us ahead and the heart really gets going. Newton pulls off the best tackle of the season. 5 minutes from the end realisation we might win this. 79-50 and an ud an under the heart really gets going i get up and jump like a man possessed.
In shock for the next day could hardly believe what had happened.
See the moral here is i did not give a shit if Wales won but you all know how i have felt since friday.
Stephen Jones is jelous he had to f......f to France to play union hows that for loyalty. When did that sputum play in front of 25,004 in a league match. Lucky in Wales if 5,000 turn up so you do the matchs regarding the full houses for the internationals. Full of part time supporters if they were real Welshmen as they potray where were the welshman on sat in pubs with there Welsh shirts on nowhere in site.
Much of Wales criticised English people for celebrating the World Cup win and called them glory hunters are they not the same. Most of the W.....s and Stephen Jones does not even speak the language nevermind it being therre first language.
The git is worried Faz is a living legend hes just average. Hope Faz rips his him apart and England wins the next Grand Slam, because from now until that Analreciving plastic Wekshman is in the squad ill never want them to win a thing again. I was going to say ill never support them again but i did not support them in the first place.
When we went down to the CC final last May the train was full before getting to Chester hows that for a game only played in a small northen area. In Cardiff i saw a dozen of people from Caernarfon there.
What that arrogant git did not say was that apart from McBryde all Wales players came from South Wales all from a 80 miles radius i bet GB players come from a larger area. He might just be thick most South Walians are. Almost all South Walians are plastic Welsh. Kind of Im Welsh if we win im British if we dont.
Mike im sorry for the explitives in the messaage even if they are covered up but there are something s that people say that are far worse than swearing.
Re: Stephen Jones is not ...
Ther following is an Email ive sent to the Tosser and the Times
Please realise that the article in your paper re Andy Farrell by Stephen Jones was inacurate and in poor taste. Do you not realist that Union in Wales is played in at the highest level in a smaller area than Lancashire. From Newport to Llanelli. With only 4 teams and they are struggling for money. Was that not the reason that Stephen Jones left for France.
And He is supposedly a loyal Welshman. When did You Mr Jones play in fron of 25,000 in a league match, hows that for a game played in a small area. lucky in wales if 5,000-8,000 trun out in the supposedly hotbed of Union. Also how many top teams of Union in Wales and England comes from North of Birmingham only 2 how that for union being in a national hotbed.
Rugby League gates are rising year on year with records being smashed. Records are being smashed in Wales domestically for the wrong reasons and that is loss in attendaces. Hoews that for a national hotbed.
Oh and by the Way Mr Jones i come from Caernarfon and speak welsh as my first language.
True reaon behind your article is you are worried when the legend gets going he will take you apart. Remeber hes the best in League in a generation whilst you are average at best. The only reason Wales won the Grand Slam was England's injury problems and inexperience they sort that out and again will dominate.
Mr Jones please realise that your article only shows your arrogance and lack of understanding league do not need Union players now the Academy churns them out. Did you not see a young Wigan side play the greatest game of rughy seeing in the Northern Hemesphere ever. See they played with heart guts determination of a level ive never seen. They were going down like skittles and still came back time after time.
Remember Mr Jones RL teams do not live on handouts by three governing bodies. Only reason Union survives in Wales is the handouts they get from the WRU. How's that for being in a national hotbed. If the Union goes broke then the game in wales is in serious trouble. Would the teams in Wales bail out another in a time of trouble oh no you lest a time die last year. Sod the good of the game if im alright jack then you do not matter.
Remember this you would only be a bench player in League whilst Farrell will be an international within 2 months, hows that for being a poorer game. You lack pace for a fly half in league kicking is not as important thats why Wilkinson is a far better player than you and if fit you will be on the bench for the Lions.
Do you not realise that a good deal of people from Wales go to watch League yur article i can gurantee will only alienate them. Also were there plans for Wales to Train with St Helens, bet that is not in the intersest of the Saints.
League is growing year on year whilst attendances in Wales has plumetted how sad is that a national game only watched by around 24,000 at the most on a weekend. The highest averages for domestic Rugby in the UK is at the Leeds Rhinos, Bradford Bull and Wigan Warriors only Leicster comes close. So if as you say Union is on the up and a national hotbed how come you do not go anywhere near these averages.
I look forward to your reply.
Then again like the next Welsh Grand Slam i do not think ill see that happen do you.

Re: Stephen Jones is not ...
Sorry for the lenght of the last 2 posts but im furious.
Re: Stephen Jones is not ...
thing is guy's like him are scared he's what you call a doom monger he has to say these things because if a league player shows up a union player it means union is c**p but he has never looked at the player himself is he a world class yes he is ,what i'm trying to get at is an average league player won't beat a world class union player in a union game so does that mean union is better no it doesn't these two games are different it takes a special player to suceed in both codes which i think farrell will but this guy is just looking at farrell as a league player not a world class player and trying to stir up a hatred that is simply not there.(sorry for going on a bit and maybe not making much sense still suffering from a hangover.)
