OK then, so that's the excuse...
I am referring to the tackle in which Ratchford ended up injured.
Just read the Guardian on-line write up of the game and it focuses far too much on both the Westwood and that incident with Hansen more or less being cited as deliberately trying to injure the player.
What are peoples views on this?
I felt there was nothing wrong with it. The tackle was not complete and the player was still standing and fr as long as can remember its just normal for one player to go high and another low to take the tackled player down.

Typical Guardian gutter press as usual just looking to impress on the negative aspects of Rugby League.DaveO wrote:I am referring to the tackle in which Ratchford ended up injured.

I said on another thread Dave that for me initial contact was on the hip which is absolutely fine, HH just ended up sliding downwards that's all. One thing about HH is that he is not a dirty player and very honest, unlike Westwood.

H had not intent bar making the tackle. I was just awkward that he was coming from a different direction to the other Wigan tackler.

The Independent is a much better write up. The Ratchford incident gets a mention but there is much more about the game itself and it doesn't dwell on either incident.Panchitta Marra wrote:Typical Guardian gutter press as usual just looking to impress on the negative aspects of Rugby League.DaveO wrote:I am referring to the tackle in which Ratchford ended up injured.

Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending they're injured. Rugby League players spend 80 minutes pretending they're not.

I felt the BBC coverage on the Super league show today also had too much of a Warrington bias and too much referral to the 2 Warrington players injuries making all the difference to the outcome.
Egg on faces of all the pundits that predicted Warrington win before the match started though!

Players come off injured in every match. I'd say Dogboy's injury was as detrimental to Wire as Ratchford's More so in fact because I thought Ratchford looked short of big match bottle from the get go. But nowt they could say about Dogboy seeing as we were in possession at the time!cpwigan wrote:H had not intent bar making the tackle. I haven't watched it back on sky but I got the impression ratchford was slicing us open left right and centerKittwazzer wrote:Players come off injured in every match. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

Just the impression I got.
