Post by josie andrews »

ALCATEL ONETOUCH, the fastest growing of the world's top 10 mobile phone manufacturers, has agreed a partnership as the Official Handset Provider to the First Utility Super League.

ALCATEL ONETOUCH will deliver innovation through mobile technology by engaging with First Utility Super League fans throughout the season, which kicks off on Friday February 7 with a match between defending champions Wigan Warriors and 2013 League Leaders Huddersfield Giants.

Welcoming ALCATEL ONETOUCH to the sport’s impressive and growing portfolio of partners, Super League Commercial Director James Mercer said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome ALCATEL ONETOUCH on board as an official partner for 2014 in what promises to be an extraordinary and exciting year for the First Utility Super League.

“ALCATEL ONETOUCH is a global brand with strong ambitions and a proud track record in innovation: in many ways this partnership with the First Utility Super League is a perfect fit and we look forward to working closely together throughout the year.

“The Super League commercial programme now boasts some of the most exciting and innovative brands in the country and the competition and its partners are growing together.”

ALCATEL ONETOUCH UK and Ireland Country Director William Paterson said: “The First Utility Super League is a sport enjoyed by all the family, so we are thrilled to be a part of this. We offer affordable technology across smartphone, tablet, mobile broadband and Wi-Fi devices, appealing to all age ranges.

“We are working closely with the First Utility Super League to deliver the technology to engage fans throughout the season, bringing them closer to the games, players and live action.”

ALCATEL ONETOUCH, who design, develop and market globally a growing range of mobile and internet devices, will also be the official handset provider for the Tetley’s Challenge Cup in 2014.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Would have been more happy with these as SL sponsor than FU, at least Alcatel are known and have been around for years

So has Poundstrecher! Not sure fans would have been overly impressed with them though. I've always associated Alcatel with being rubbish... But to be honest if the sponsor is putting in a good chunk of money then I'm reasonably happy. I am not confident that is the case.
