Blake's Blog 2014 Pt 12

Hi guys
How are we all?
I'm getting back into the swing of things now, my arm is ok now and feels good. I have an appointment with the doc in two weeks' time to see if I can start to return to full training. It's not the best being injured, you have a different routine to the rest of the squad and can't take part in a lot of sessions so the sooner I am back with the group the better really. My aim is the Hull KR game and it would be great to come back for that fixture with it being my former club and on Sky too.
A lot has been said lately about the marquee signing proposal put forward by Marwan Koukash. I can see his point of view to be honest and although we may not really need it here at the Warriors with our production line of talent I think it could be a real shot in the arm for Rugby League in this country. Could you imagine the scenes if Jonathan Thurston signed for Wakefield for a year or Sonny Bill Williams ended up at Castleford. The ticket sales alone would pay the guys wages whilst the press and media would go into overdrive too. I'm all for it and hope that it is introduced at some point in the future.
London went down on the weekend, relegated without winning a game. They've had it tough down there all season and I think it's for the best that they drop down a division and look to rebuild in the Championship. I think we all want Rugby League in the capital to be a success and hopefully long term we can have a winning team in the South. With the new league format about to be introduced, the emphasis is on them to get back on track next season and earn their way back into Super League, a challenge I think they will all be up for.
It was an interesting game on the weekend wasn't it just? I think Catalan thought they could bully us around the park and knock us off our game but we stayed strong and worked hard to get a very good win. It's a tough place to go and to score that many points is very satisfying for the players. Some of the tactics used by the opposition was not the best and it's good to see the authorities are looking into that.
This past week I was down in London for the RL Business Network Breakfast, it was great to see business people from across the Capital out supporting the venture. I hope it is the first of many more meetings as the group goes from strength to strength. Let's not talk about the result, the main thing is the Blues had it tied up and won the series!
Right I best leave it there for now.

BLAKE'S BLOG
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Good to know his recovery's going well, can't harm our chances having him fresh for the play offs

Still a month away if he's looking at the HKR game.
Interesting to see how Williams goes until then.
Williams did well at Catalans but we do need experienced men for the last two games v Wire & Leeds then into the play offs.

Williams played hooker Ted, Sam Powell played instead of Blake Green.
