Attention To Detail, The LSV
Attention To Detail, The LSV
Wigan seemed to be trying to play as if LSV was the DW in width etc and they invariably ran out of space. Surely, Wigan should have spent at least a week training on the LSV pitch and/or have Orrell marked out exactly to the dimensions of the LSV pitch.
I mean it was not like the game was important or anything!

Seriously good point. Add to that. the HKR defence plan and it was obvious to spectators and viewers alike that our tactics should have changed during the match. Wigan are a leading club and we should have been more professional in our approach both before and during the match.

For the fifth year running, there was talk from within the club ofthe team being toosmall.Hullwillhave noted thesize of the pitch and taken heart We are massively handicapped in the power stakes, and Wane does not seem recognize this. Our options are too limited.SACK WANE

Re: Attention To Detail, The LSV
In my opinion, the smaller pitch at the LSV helped Hull KR more than us. At the beginning of recent seasons, we have played Leigh in pre season friendlies and have always struggled there.
For some reason, we always seemed to struggle against a decent team on a small pitch.
I appreciate that the nearby Macron Stadium would have been a big Stadium for the size of the crowd the game would attract, but it does have a larger pitch which would have allowed us to play a more normal and expansive game.
The TV pundits John Kear and John Wilkin at the Leeds v Huddersfield game were making similar comments about the wisdom of playing the game at the LSV
Not a excuse on losing, just a another opinion on why.

Re: Attention To Detail, The LSV
I will take your word for it. Obviously whatever Wigan do at Orrell did not replicate LSV, perhaps they should have trained on the LSV v Leigh. Far better than training with Bath.No straw damn us wrote:LSV pitch is the same size as Orrell.

DW

114 x 74 yards – 8436 sq.yards by
and according to Wiki
The pitch is large enough to conform with both FIFA and the standard rugby league requirements, at 110 by 60 metres (120 yd × 66 yd). This leaves an in-goal area just 5 metres (5.5 yd) deep for rugby matches. It is mostly made of natural grass, with 2% of the pitch composed of synthetics to provide stability.[2] The ground has irrigation, and an under-heating system to resist icy weather.[2]
