I've never countenanced the cowardly shoulder charge by a big player on a little player but the shoulder charge is a natural part of the aggression fundemental in our great game.
The only way to avoid the penalty ensuing from an agressive tackle though apparently is to tackle head on face to face with some suggestion of wrapping arms around the opponent.
Face to face means head to head, no suprise so many facial injuries and concussions which inevitably lead to cynical interchanges for a fifteen minute brain scan.
Bring back the shoulder charge before someone gets hurt.

I've thought the same way recently. Not putting your shoulder into the tackle does leave your head open to contact.
That is a good post which all the rugby league world must look at positively.

Re: WHY SO MANY HEAD INJURIES?
In the 1st half we were camped on Wire line and 2 of their players went down. Are teams under pressure if they can using he new rule to get a break. Both players played on as if nothing had happened.
Should we now do as football does if you stop play for treatment you go off until the ref calls you back in. That seemed dodgy when both collided i think stayed down but 1 of the was involved in the next ptb.

Well just seen Eliot Whithead take a serious knock. Exactly as my post. The no shoulder charge rule is responsible, get rid.
good luck Eliot, hope you are OK.
