Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Pat Richards
Pat averaged 11 points per game in his Wigan career, no other player has achieved that. (Fact via Bilko)

Re: Pat Richards
Warriors legend Richards to retire
Wigan Warriors Pat Richards has announced he is to retire at the end of the season.
The winger, who currently plays for Super League outfit Catalans Dragons, made 244 appearances during an seven-year spell at the DW Stadium, scoring just short of 2,500 points.
In total, he won two Challenge Cups with the Warriors and two Super League titles; his last appearance saw him scoring a try in the Grand Final victory over Warrington Wolves in 2013.
The 34-year-old Irish international began his career at Paramatta Eels in 2000 before signing for Wests Tigers in 2004.
He made the move to Wigan in 2006 before returning to Wests three years ago. He will end his career at French side Catalans, who he signed for this season.
During his 16-year-career the Australian-born star has scored more than 3000 points in nearly 400 appearances.
A simple message from Wigan on their social media accounts this morning read: “He came as a player. He left as a legend. Good luck in your retirement Pat Richards.”

Re: Pat Richards
All the best to Pat. Dang I remember watching him play in the reserves at Orrell. He never complained and just got on with it.
