Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Big early season for Leigh!

Post by FWarrior »

Depending how Leigh fare in the first 6 games, this season could be okay or a very long million pound game one. Winning one sided Champ games allows you to play giant killer for one off games but now, they have to do it week in week out and if it goes like it did tomight v Cas, confidence/belief will soon erode.

I think tonights game will stand them in good stead in a funny sort of way,a good hiding that didnt quite become a trouncing for them, the next few weeks will be hard but if they can start to recover on the return legs they should just about get away with it.

A long season for them but i think they knew that though.

Indeed but the problem is if they get 40+ put past them next week and the round after etc. Strong experienced squad but confidence will soon drop.

I think Widnes are one of the favourites for the drop, let players go and not done much recruiting.

Leigh tried to bully the game v Cas but Cas matched them and more.
Leigh have an experienced side but I think the age of the players in their pack will go against them.
Castleford played well but I can't see Leigh avoiding the lower half of the table.

Yes but despite the score it was a fast enthusiastic game. I enjoyed it more than the Wire game which was drab in comparison. I wish Leigh well and I was impressed by Cas

I enjoyed most the cas v Leigh game out of all the televised games over this weekend.
I thought Leigh just went out to bully Castleford, but couldn't.
I thought Leigh run out of steam a bit with the more aged pack, but most on my mind was that i thought the Leigh coach looked as though he was struggling to come up with any ideas how to stem the impetus coming from Castleford.
Is Neil Jukes out of his depth in Superleague?

I think Neil Jokes has done well and earned the right to have a dig at coahing in SL. It is a huge task and maybe all that matters is Leigh avoiding relegation.

I do think Leigh have a huge task. Gaz Hock in the 2nd row, Ryan Hampshire calming down in defence will help. It took Cas a while to break Leigh down and Cas are being touted as top 4 by some.

Go on ill bite

Based on what evidence?
A lancashire cup final win
Wins northwest counties
3 promotions
2 national cup final appearances (think stpats with their undoubted history have made the final once?).

Not bad I reckon in about 7 seasons by the time your 31.
