Should Wane Go ?
Most posters on here seem to think he should go, but when I speak to other fans quite a few say its either an attack coach we need or that injuries was the main negative and so Wane should stay.

Re: Should Wane Go ?
Personally i think the set up at wigan has become too jobs for the boys. Wane brought a lot of these lads through the system and he is very close to a few of them and that cant help when he has difficult decisions to make. We need a coach who can see things in the cold light of day
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
Re: Should Wane Go ?
i think we are desperate for a change.
Wane , again , contradicted himself on Sat after the Wakefield shambles. He always reminds us about the no excuse culture that exists in the Club yet on Saturday he came out with a stat about injuries that had affected so many of the games

Re: Should Wane Go ?
The injury situation has plagued us for 2 years.
With any luck next season, we'll be back in the mix.
As to whether he should stay or go, I reckon is a decision he needs to make himself.
Personally, I hope he stays and gets a bit of luck going his way.

Can't say I felt good about voting Yes because he's a decent man but we desperately need a coach with vision and the ability to put tactics together to suit our own players and to deal with the opposition in both defence and attack. Sorry but I don't think SW can do that kind of job.

I voted he should stay but hire an attack coach.
Perhaps an attack coach would take things away from Waney and allow him to work on defence and motivation.

Re: Should Wane Go ?
The problem is not just the attack though is it? He uses the props in defence and has the wingers carrying the ball up early in the tackle count. An attack coach may not want his wingers doing that and may want the props used differently.Wiganer Ted wrote:I voted he should stay but hire an attack coach.

I suppose what I am trying to say is you can't conveniently compartmentalise attack and defense as if they are two entirely separate things.
An attack coach and Wane would have to adopt a system such that they both compliment each other.
So either way you look at this with Wane remaining if we want to see improvement, attack coach or not, he has got to change his tactics. And he can't because he doesn't know how.

The same thing about injuries was being said this time last season though and all that happened is it got worse..jobo wrote:The injury situation has plagued us for 2 years.

I think the problem is even if an attack coach is brought in, the first time they say they don't think Sam Powell is good enough, then Wane will disagree and we will have a problem.
Wane is too stubborn to admit he's struggling and needs a hand. The only chance is if IL brings someone in , Wane might walk.

Re: Should Wane Go ?
To me Wane can't see the problems as he is too stubborn to see his own mistakes.
I agree that his relationships with staff and players does effect his judgement.
He has brought some brilliant talent through the youth system but sometimes you e got to realise sometimes that there just not good enough and there might be better options elsewhere
