It really is and in his position there is a lot of competition.

Very sad. Feel for the guy, that is so tough for him.

I said months back that I would be surprised if we ever see him play SL again, I truly hope I am wrong!

I hate to say it but he’s finished. There’s no way that he’ll come back from this injury after all this time and even if he does can’t see him being the same player he was.
Such a shame.
If he had not got his injury, he would be an England international now

I think the most important thing is that we just let nature take it's course and let it heal in it's own time. We CAN'T have a repeat of his last comeback bid. As frustrating as it is for everybody he and the club have to make sure that they are taking every precaution to ensure he get's enough strength back in it to be able to compete again. Even if it takes until next season we still get a full pre-season to get him back up to speed. I hadn't expected to see him this season so to read he was planned for next month surprises me a lot but if there is a chance we can see him back at some point this term that would just be a bonus.

Completely understand why you say that but nobody has told him he is finished. No physio, doctor or specialist etc. If they are happy for him to make a comeback that's fine with me.

Imo it's doubtful he'll ever return since being healed enough for a normal healthy life isn't the same as being able to resume a sporting career. Sounds harsh but he really needs to decide if it's worth the risk returning plus Wigan have to decide if they are willing to gamble also.
Imo he'll be released shortly after recovery
