Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

Sam is playing very intelligent RL at the moment and without him we will be weaker without doubt, however given his knee issues for me its a no brainer, common sense prevails, we need him to stay fit!

Escare poised for Warriors recall
Morgan Escare is set to come in from the cold this Friday night.
The Frenchman is expected to start at full-back in place of Sam Tomkins when they take on Denis Betts’ Widnes. Escare has not figured in Wigan’s last four matches – all victories – but will get his chance this week.
Tomkins, 29, has never played at Widnes since they installed an artificial pitch.
However, Wane says he has has a foot injury which has limited his training. “Sam’s foot is sore, so he won’t play,” said Wane. “So Morgan will play instead.”
Wane has yet to select the rest of the side but said Australian prop Gabriel Hamlin was in his thoughts. Centre Dan Sarginson is a doubt after a back spasm, suffered minutes before last Friday’s 28-12 win against Castleford, but has been named in the 19-man squad.
Ben Flower, Joel Tomkins and Liam Farrell all miss out.

I agree. I would also leave Lockers in the stands as well, that surface can be cruel.TrueBlueWarrior wrote:Sam is playing very intelligent RL at the moment and without him we will be weaker without doubt, however given his knee issues for me its a no brainer, common sense prevails, we need him to stay fit!

It’s his foot not his knee that is causing the problem ...... apparently ????TrueBlueWarrior wrote:Sam is playing very intelligent RL at the moment and without him we will be weaker without doubt, however given his knee issues for me its a no brainer, common sense prevails, we need him to stay fit!

Re: 19-Man Squad: Vs Widnes
I hope the rest are due to injury precautions and not resting. We dont seem to play brilliantly vs widnes and they have got a load of players back.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

If sam doesnt play then we need lockers in the team imo....... we have, in the past, lost or been very fortunate in the past by resting too many players there
IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN I WILL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE

Salford and Warrington next two games maybe to blame for some of the changes also. Widnes need the win badly and they didnt play badly last week with an injury ridden squad. That pitch and players back, they might just fancy it.
I dont like Widnes,Joe Lydons fault that though.

Re: 19-Man Squad: Vs Widnes
I think Wane has gone overboard leaving these four players out if they are not injured.
Joel Tomkins and I can understand as his knees are shot and they have that plastic pitch but leaving Faz out as well as Sam Tomkins goes a long way to neutering our attack. Faz is key to making many breaks often from in our own half that set us on the way to a score.
Why Wane can't just rest one or two like most coaches would do? What is wrong with playing a stronger side, putting the game to bed and then taking the likes of Faz off for the last 1/4 or whatever? He's got four subs he can use to rest players.
