Catalans away
Catalans away
can anyone tell me if catalans are allowed to have 5000 of their own fans at the game on Saturday and if so why are we playing in a country that is ravaged with covid,I feel that we are on an hiding to nothing and this game shouldn't take place.

Re: Catalans away
I’ve said this all along! Other teams have to play in neutral venues, behind closed doors.
Okay, it’s been lucky for Leeds, Saints & Warrington that their stadiums have been chosen to try & contain Covid-19 as best as they can. But they are still not allowed any fans in.
The RFL having granted them, Catalan, a “home” game, should have refused fans being allowed in. As you say, there was around 7000 new cases reported in France the other week!
I really am against this match or any other matches for that matter being played in France.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

On Friday, France registered 8,975 new cases of the virus which is almost 1,500 more than the country’s previous high of 7,578 which was recorded on March 31. Aside from Spain, France has the highest 14-day cumulative COVID-19 case number according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. With the number of cases now standing at 30,686, France has a cumulative case number of 111.6 while Spain has 240.6.

Re: Catalans away
I always thought part of reason for using limited stadiums was to help support the clubs with reduced costs.
Seeing as the Latics have already played a friendly at the DW and the imminent start of the season, surely this must indicate that the DW is a Covid secure environment so why can’t we play at home?
In terms of the fans, this is where the RFL & Super League need to stamp there authority and say no fans until we say so. This should be regardless of what local guidance issues.

I think its fine to have 5K fans if their local regulations say its fine. Would you accept Cats saying we can't have 5K fans in the DW because they weren't allowed to? We should be pushing the government to include us in trails of fans in stadiums, not trying to stop teams who can already do this.

Did i read somewhere that Wigan were to be allocated tickets but the attending Wigan fans would have to self isolate for 14 days on their return .
Were the club offered tickets and refused to accept them or am I just having a senior moment (again)

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

How are we travelling to Perpignan. Is it a private charter and who is picking up the cost . Costing Catalans a fortune to come over here it's a lot of expenditure with nowt but Sky money coming in at present .
