Team for Salford

Post by Brennox7 »

I know it's early after the wakey game and we played a poor side today. But how do others feel we need to line up next time out?

Halsall in for Bibby?
Ellis back for Partington?
Will hardaker get his spot back now Smith will play for a few weeks with Leuleui and Powell out?
Should have tested O Neill today!
Some good displays today so be interesting when players come back in the next week or so?

Cheers!

Hardaker to return and hopefully Marshall in the team.
Salford may turn out to be not much better than Wakefield today.
Another entertaining game with outstanding tries perhaps.

I would be really interested to see...
field - french - Hardaker - Halsall - Marshall - Cust - Smith
Ellis - O’Neill - Byrne - Bateman - Faz - Smithies
Shorrocks - Mago - Singo - Havard
(With Cust at 9 at some point).

Same here. Assuming Marshall is fit this is the best team we could put out in my opinion.

We’ve a few decisions to make and that’s a good thing in most cases. It sounded like Hardaker and Marshall would be back in contention and obviously Powell will drop out.

I want to see Brad O’Neill given a shot. He’s a cracking young player and a natural hooker. I’d bring Hardaker back in for Bibby and Marshall for Miski. I’d keep Halsall in for next week and challenge him to try and keep a spot ahead of the semi.

I’d go-

Field
French Hardaker Halsall Marshall
Cust Smith
Singleton O’Neill Byrne
Bateman Farrell Smithies

Subs
Mago Ellis Havard Shorrocks

Reasonable source. Employee at the club.
They said they were hopeful for earlier than the cup semi.

I’d go with that as well. With the injury and suspensions it also seems an obvious lineup.

That said it would not surprise me to see Peet play Partington ahead of Byrne or Harvard which would be a mistake based on form. (I am assuming given people are saying all the senior forwards played well today including Ellis he’s not going to drop any of them).

He’s only going for a scan tomorrow, Tuesday! So I don’t know where your statement comes from.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
