Billy-Joe and Craig

I still can't quite believe it.

Most "minutes silences" don't mean an awful lot to most of us do they ? It's just something that you do without thinking, because that's what you been asked to do. You don't know the person involved, so it is just "automatic".

This afternoon was COMPLETELY different for me. It has hit me MUCH harder than I ever thought it could.

I feel like I really KNEW Billy-Joe through watching him play, seeing him at the Riversiders meetings and through his community work promoting our sport to the kids.

I actually feel ANGRY about this.

It is slowly dawning on me that two young lives have been snatched needlessly from us.

Two young men who will never again grace us with their skills on the rugby pitch. Two young men who will never fulfil their potential (either professionally or on a personal level). Two members of MY club, MY team, MY second home whom I will never see again.

I'm sorry to ramble on, but it's really brought it home to me just how vulnerable humans actually are - Not that I'm going all religious - Maybe just realising how precious life is.

My sincerest condolences go out to Shaun and Paul and to the rest of Billy-Joe and Craigs families and friends.

Also, apologies to the board if my outpouring has offended or upset anyone, but I just feel so bloody angry at the waste of it all......

I cannot belive that two young lads have gone so quickly, I went to put folwers down yesterday at the JJB and it was heartbreaking reading all the messages that have been left, for such two wonderful lads. I couldn't believe it on sunday when they annouced they had been killed, and seeing the other guys standing arm in arm for them was heartbreaking. I would like to pass my condolences and my thoughts onto both familes who have lost such precious sons and brothers. Its a great loss to rugby league. REST IN PEACE. THINKING OF YOU ALWAYS XXXX

I never realised how many people were so angry about it :( I've been feeling really weird all week and I thought it was just me cause no one else in my college seemed to be that bothered by it. It's not fair. N I kno what you mean pie eyed about the minutes silence, it was really meaningful for once normally they're just respectful but this actually meant something to everyone in that stadium n even though it was probably one of the worst minute silences I've had to be in, it made me really proud to be a wiganer.
Cherry and white forever lads, we'll never forget you.

You'll find it in the deepest friendship
The kind you cherish all your life
And when you know how much it means

I THINK THIS SUMS UP WHAT BILLY JOE AND CRAIG'S FREINDSHIP MEANT TO EACH OTHER.

I just want to say how much I am going to miss Billy Joe. He was of those faces you looked forward to seeing whether it was on the field or stood at the bar in a pub round wigan. I only got to know him about 6 months ago but I am so glad I got the chance. He will be deeply missed by all his friends, family and fans. And as for Craig, I know that, Estelle, his girlfriend is devastated by his death as too is his family and friends. I would like to say on behalf of Wigan, may the memories live on and i hope that both lads REST IN PEACE! It was an un-neccesary loss but I hope both family see how much their children touched the hearts of hundreds of people.
