Morgan Smithies has been issued with a one-match penalty notice following Friday’s game against St Helens

Knowles has been referred to the tribunal and Matautia has received a £250 fine. Philbin banned for two games, Dudson to appear before the beak.

What did Smithies do, or French for that matter?

Are the MRP watching the same match. Neither Knowles, Smithies or French got pulled for a penalty during the match. Caution for French, a match for Smithies and probably 4 for Knowles while Singleton gets NFA and Matautia a fine after both being penalised during the match. Bearing in mind that Wire will be without Philbin and Dudson this will ruin what is potentially one of the best matches of the season.

As long as it ruins the Wolves more than us.
That’s all I’m bothered about

Wigan Warriors' Morgan Smithies handed one-match penalty notice following Friday's game against St Helens

Wigan Warriors will be without Morgan Smithies for Friday’s game against Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The loose forward has been handed a one-match penalty notice for a Grade B Dangerous Contact in the Good Friday Derby against St Helens at the DW Stadium.

The official reasoning stated: “Defender uses any part of their body forcefully to twist, bend or otherwise apply pressure to the limb or limbs of an opposing player in a way that involves an unacceptable risk of injury to that player.”

Meanwhile, Bevan French has also received a caution under ‘other contrary behaviour’ for using his feet in a tackle.
