Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Referee for Friday
I suppose this will be the kiss of death but I saw him ref a match a couple of weeks ago and he was very impressive. I apologise if he turns out to be another Smith or Vella.

Perhaps you should have just put, as crap as all the other Refs, who apply no common sense in their calls.Southern Softy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 6:32 pm I suppose this will be the kiss of death but I saw him ref a match a couple of weeks ago and he was very impressive. Give the young lad a break, he’s just starting off & needs support. Job is hard enough as it is no wonder we can’t get referees in this sport

Re: Referee for Friday
What I saw and liked was a ref who was prepared to make decisions on the field (calling offsides and being correct) and generally being decisive and letting the game flow. The players seemed to respond and it was good to see. I hope he's good again on Friday because the game is crying out for some sensible, straightforward reffing as opposed to some of the other pedants I mentioned.Ipinwigan wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 7:22 amPerhaps you should have just put, as crap as all the other Refs, who apply no common sense in their calls.Southern Softy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 6:32 pm I suppose this will be the kiss of death but I saw him ref a match a couple of weeks ago and he was very impressive. Did OK, and was impressed by the way that he didn't let both sides influence him, but particularly London who seemed to throw their collective arms up in the air every time that there was a tackle.
However, one thing to pick him up on is that he allowed London far too much leeway in slowing the game down at the play the ball. Learning point!

Yeah credit where it's due he did well ,not much jeopardy in the game but never the less he's promising.
