Hudd's v Leeds (spoilers)
Hudd's v Leeds (spoilers)
Sam Essah has every physical attribute you'd need for a a RL forward but he must be eating the wrong food. One minute he's at full speed, which last about 30 seconds, then he looks absolutely gassed.
Enjoyable game so far though, can see why Hanley gets the England jersey over Marshall, just.

Only put on report because Sky kept replaying it . Bad miss by the ref and video ref. On report does Giants no favours

Terrible game, very poor standard from both teams, the referee and video ref.
A game kicking off at 8:00 and first half finished at 8:55, it's like American football, with the amount of stoppages

Exactly utterly pointless being out on report there has to be another way for incidents like thisEDINBURGH-WARRIOR wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 9:00 pm Only put on report because Sky kept replaying it . Bad miss by the ref and video ref. On report does Giants no favours

The annoying thing was that if the defender had stayed down longer he would have seen red.Shows are poor the rules are

Re: Hudd's v Leeds (spoilers)
and then to top things off the ref sends 2 to the bin with about 4 minutes left for the bit of handbags after Leeds last try (or assuming it was as i turned it off after that), with wording along, if you take control off me i'll bin you
prior to that i'd only got in to watch the 2nd half, and had seen 3 or 4 head contacts which would have been binned earlier in the season. Whilst i thought he'd done well with a couple as the attacker had gone down low, the one from Bibby definitely warranted action
on Eseh, he showed glimpses of what he can do both in attack and defence. Get him back into our training systems and fully fit, then we could have a decent player on our hands

They are creating a system, which will encourage players to stay down if they feel there was something in the tackle to be reviewed.Firestarter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2024 8:09 am The annoying thing was that if the defender had stayed down longer he would have seen red.Shows are poor the rules are
The solutions:-
1. Don't allow the Video Ref to review these incidents, leave it to the Disciplinary Panel. If the Ref has missed it, just get on with it.
2. Put a review procees in place that is far quicker, to establish if something was missed by the Ref. The Aussies seem to have better and quicker reviews.
The problem with this option is that our Video Refs are incapable of making a decision, unless thay have viewed an incident about 10 times and take about 3 or 4 minutes. You have enough time to go to the toilet and get a drink from the bar, in the time it takes the Video Ref to make a decision.

Re: Hudd's v Leeds (spoilers)
I gave up at half-time because both sides were so inept.
What it did confirm is the need for better refereeing and co-ordination between the officials. Griffiths sent everything to the video ref, including those he was 2 yards away from except the one that would have shown Leeds' third try should have been chalked off and a red card issued, meaning Huddersfield would have been 12-6 down with a one-man advantage for the remainder of the match. A classic demonstration of how one piece of incompetence can directly affect the result of a match. I've no idea if Huddersfield would have won (probably not because they were useless) but they should have had the opportunity to find out.
