Four people were arrested following violent scenes at Elland Road as a fight erupted between Hull KR and Castleford Tigers supporters. Police responded to reports of a fight between the sets of supporters, with four men arrested on suspicion of affray.
The incident took place during the closing stages of Rovers' excellent victory over Catalans Dragons, as Castleford supporters started to take their position in the stadium before their game against Huddersfield Giants.
A large number of police and stewards were moved to the scene, with supporters escorted from the stadium. West Yorkshire Police has confirmed one of those arrested has been released without further charge, but three remain in custody.
In a statement issued to Hull Live, West Yorkshire Police said: "At about 5.45pm yesterday, officers involved in the policing operation for the rugby league Magic Weekend at Elland Road stadium responded to a fight in the North Stand involving a handful of supporters of Castleford Tigers and Hull
"Officers supported stewards to separate those involved and brought the incident to a swift conclusion. There were no reports of any serious injuries
"Four men were arrested on suspicion of affray in relation to the incident. One was later released without charge and three remain in custody."
It was the first time Elland Road has ever hosted the Super League event, which sees all twelve teams play each other over the course of the weekend. However, the event was the second-lowest attendance in the concept's 17-year history

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
