Hull KR coach Willie Peters' wife's Coldplay vision becomes reality

Hull KR coach was planning possible trip to Greece for concert but can enjoy closer to home

Hull Kingston Rovers coach Willie Peters' wife told him on arrival in the country that she wanted to see Coldplay - and now the British band are heading for Craven Park.

Coldplay announced two nights at the venue as part of their upcoming world tour on August 18 and 19 ahead of six planned dates at Wembley Stadium - and Rovers' Australian coach Peters said that it was an ambition of his wife Kera.

Asked if the Coldplay tour dates excite him, the Rovers coach replied: "I think it excites my wife a lot more than me. When we came here, she said right away that she wants to watch Coldplay so I was looking at places in Greece and everywhere else around the world but now we've got it at Craven Park. It's huge, massive for us. massive for Hull as a city. To have Coldplay play here is mind-blowing to be honest."

Fellow Australian Matt Parcell confirmed in an announcement today that he is leaving the club to head back to Australia at the end of this season. Asked about the Coldplay announcement, Parcell replied: "I'm gutted, I saw that today! The boys are buzzing, hopefully they get some really good tickets because that's a really cool thing to have at Craven Park."

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
