Women’s End of Season Awards Winners

ON THURSDAY EVENING, WIGAN WARRIORS WOMEN CELEBRATED THEIR 2024 END OF SEASON AWARDS EVENING SPONSORED BY BLUE SKY PLUMBING LTD WITH ANNA DAVIES TAKING HOME A HOST OF AWARDS.

Academy Player of the Year – Libby Wall

Libby has been a formidable player for the Academy this year, a stand-out to her coaches due to her efforts on and off the pitch. In 2024, she has gone above and beyond, and her efforts in her own time has translated to some superb performances.

Libby has been equally impressive at her Community Club, Leigh Miners, which has earned her a spot in the Women’s Academy for the 2025 season.

Young Player of the Year – Isabel Rowe

A breakthrough season in 2024 at just 17-years-old, Rowe made her debut in Wigan’s Challenge Cup opening round. Rowe scored 13 tries and kicked 40 goals, making her the top points scorer in 2024 and helping the Warriors to the Women’s Nines Trophy in July.

Rowe’s performances for Club also earnt her a spot in the Lancashire Origin squad as well as making her England debut, recently celebrating her 18th birthday whilst playing in an 84-0 victory over Wales at AMT Headingley Stadium.

Players’ Player of the Year – Anna Davies

Voted by her peers, Anna Davies was named 2024 Players’ Player of the Year.

Top Try Scorer – Anna Davies

Demolishing her previous try tallies per season, Anna crossed for 27 tries in Super League and Challenge Cup appearances in 2024 – setting a Club record for tries scored for the Women’s team (49).

The centre continued her fine scoring form in England’s international against Wales this month where she set a new record with five tries in a game.

Warrior of the Year – Anna Davies

Picked annually by Katie Coutanche, Warrior of the Year was awarded to Anna Davies for her relentless attitude and willingness to help out her teammates.

Coaches Award – Cerys Jones

Picked by Head Coach Denis Betts, this years Coaches Award went to Cerys Jones.

The forward, who made 19 appearances for the Warriors in all competitions, scored her first try for the Club in an 82-0 win over Warrington Wolves.
