Post by southportcdm »

For those who have missed the announcement on the club website - The Wigan Warriors documentary is being shown on sky sports action on Weds, Thurs and Friday nights. It seems to be about all the stuff that happened in and around the club last season. Looks like a must watch.

WIGAN WARRIORS DOCUMENTARY TO AIR ON SKY SPORTS THIS WEEK

* WE ARE WIGAN WARRIORS to premier on Sky Sports this week
* The three-episode documentary to be shown over three nights
* Warriors CEO Kris Radlinski couldn't be prouder

The hugely anticipated Wigan Warriors ‘fly-on-the-wall’ documentary titled “WE ARE WIGAN WARRIORS” will air exclusively on Sky Sports this week.

Commissioned by Wigan Warriors and filmed and produced by JAM Films, the three-part series charts the historic Grand Slam 2024 season, from a unique perspective. The behind-the-scenes story uncovers some truly remarkable moments of success, heartbreak and joy, talking to the people involved - every thrilling step of the way.

The three-episode series will be shown on Sky Sports Action and on demand across three days. On Wednesday 26th (22:00), Thursday 27th (23:00) and concluding on Friday 28th February (22:15), the day before Wigan Warriors create more history by facing Warrington Wolves at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas on Saturday 1st March, a game also live on Sky Sports and NOW.

Episode 1 - Family Matters - Wednesday 26th February

Episode 2 - Trouble in Paradise - Thursday 27th February

Episode 3 - Keep the Faith - Friday 28th February

Warriors Chief Executive Kris Radlinski said: “2024 will be a year that Wigan Warriors fans will never forget. A season of triumph, passion, and unforgettable moments. But what truly made this year special wasn’t just the games or the trophy lifts - it was everything that happened in the other 10,000 minutes of each week, outside of those 80 minutes on the field.

“We were incredibly fortunate to have Joe Gardiner and Miles Massey from JAM Films capturing it all. What you’re about to see on Sky isn’t just a highlights reel—it’s raw, real, and unrestricted access to the heart and soul of our club. The hard work, the sacrifices, the moments of doubt, the camaraderie, and the unbreakable spirit that defines Wigan Warriors.

“While we take immense pride in what we achieved on the pitch in 2024, I’m even prouder of how we handled everything behind the scenes—the moments no one sees… until now.

“So, sit back, soak it all in, and enjoy the story of one of the greatest years in our existence."

Sounds good

I miss the Up n Under type behind the scenes documentaries

Sky themselves should have done this years ago, followed a different team each year, or two teams, SL/ Women/lower league

Raw, real and unrestricted’ – what fans will see in Wigan Warriors doc airing before Las Vegas

Rugby league fans can relive a Grand Slam season in a new Wigan Warriors documentary made exclusively for Sky Sports.

The fly-on-the-wall trilogy of episodes will showcase behind-the-scenes footage from the 2024 season, following players, coaches and staff as they navigate through one of their best seasons ever as a club.

‘We Are Wigan Warriors’ will be shown on Sky Sports Action across three nights, starting on Wednesday 26th February. This is all in preparation for the Warriors’ Super League tie with Warrington Wolves in Las Vegas on Saturday evening.

Wigan chief executive Kris Radlinkski said: “2024 will be a year that Wigan Warriors fans will never forget. A season of triumph, passion, and unforgettable moments.

“But what truly made this year special wasn’t just the games or the trophy lifts—it was everything that happened in the other 10,000 minutes of each week, outside of those 80 minutes on the field.”

Production company, JAM Films, was granted full access to the Warriors throughout 2024 and the documentary will show the highs and lows of running a Super League club.

He added: “We were incredibly fortunate to have Joe Gardiner and Miles Massey from JAM Films capturing it all. What you’re about to see on Sky isn’t just a highlights reel—it’s raw, real, and unrestricted access to the heart and soul of our club.

The hard work, the sacrifices, the moments of doubt, the camaraderie, and the unbreakable spirit that defines Wigan Warriors.”

Wigan were very open last season, with the club frequently allowing TV cameras into the dressing room and showing how they prepare for a match day. Radlinski is hoping this documentary will show even more of that for fans across the Super League to enjoy.

He added: “While we take immense pride in what we achieved on the pitch in 2024, I’m even prouder of how we handled everything behind the scenes—the moments no one sees… until now. So, sit back, soak it all in, and enjoy the story of one of the greatest years in our existence.”

The Wigan Warriors documentary will be shown across Sky Sports Action over three days and the three episodes are as follows:

Episode 1 – Family Matters – Wednesday 26 February, 10pm, Sky Sports Action
Episode 2 – Trouble in Paradise – Thursday 27 February, 11pm, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Action
Episode 3 – Keep the Faith – Friday 28 February, 10.15pm, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Action
