How can we withdraw an offer for a player,? Mo has stated an offer had not be put forward in the first place ?, What the hell is going on ? So i guess we can all now stop getting excited if we want to eh ?

This whole drama is pathetic... Mo should not have tormented the fans with his you can get excited now. That was idiotic.
It was and hasn't Millward apparently told Maurice it was stupid (I think Millward said as much at the Riversiders meeting)?

It is very hard to tell what is going on because I do agree with ML that every time an Aussie player talks about coming here he is linked with the club.

The only official statement from the club is that no offer was made to Barrett.

Will the club now comment on the fact the Aussie press is now saying Wigan "withdrew" an offer?

As people have said how can Wigan withdraw an offer that was never made.

It could well be the players agent turning "enquiry" into "offer" but this does beg the question if all the club ever did was enquire about Barrett just why the fans should get excited over an implied signing for 2007.

That said, if you read what Mo said over that with a lawyers hat on, you will see he never said exactly what it was the fans could get excited about!

It really would have been better if he had kept his trap shut over this and hopefully he will have finally learned a lesson NOT to discuss potential signings with anyone until they are actually nailed on and signed up.

I still say it was because he's arrange for Kylie Minogue to do the pre-match entertainment at the JJB next year! Well, she's an Aussie and she's as unlikely as all the other Aussies mentioned to actually make it to Wigan...

I think Millward has his eye on a relatively unknown Stand Off because he did that when he was at Saint Helens. He would find players with alot of potential then bring them to St Helens and mould them into his own players. Millward is probably a bit concerned that Barret is quite old and if he doesn't fit in at Wigan it will be very hard to change his game.

Or maybe we are signing Jason Hooper if Saint release him.

Please not Hooper, i really ditest the man, and feel he would solve nothing at Wigan, and would probably give more penalties away with his dirty style of cheap play.

I dont know Doug even though Barret is a fine player i think at present Benji Marshall may just have the nod on him as to who is no1 at the moment.
