Harrison Hansen should be able

Post by ian.birchall »

to pass the ball out of a tackle when the smallest man in Superleague in Burrows is tackling him, if he had got the ball away Wigan would have scored and should then have gone onto win.
Once again I have to ask what the point is in keeping a player on the subs bench for 72 minutes before bringing him on, its like playing with only 16 players. Our two new props look good but still suffer from the Aussie inability to play for 40 or more minutes at a stretch but having said that what was Smith doing in taking Peacock and Sinfield off at all.
See that TAP is continuing the strange idea of playing loose forwards a la Sculthorpe at stand off but thought that Seans' contribution tonight was much greater than last week, just a pity he fell off in that try awarding tackle :(

Hansen i thought was excellent tonight. He tackled everything above grass. The real problem lies in the distribution. i.e. stand-off. The centres see very little ball and a good stand-off would see to that! O'loughlin IS NOT A STAND OFF! The pack looks okay to me, apart from a leader, and i feel Fletcher will solve that! Wigan are close to being a decent side in my eyes despite the results. They still need a good ball distributor such as Barret and another world class centre such as Gasnier so that Richards could revert back to the wing nect year!

:( Just got back, and I must say I am very disappointed, looks like a very long season ahead, although 16 points ahead I never thought we where in control ! We looked very tired from 60 mins on, so much for millwards 'we are well prepared and ready'

I was very pleased with Hansen tonight, he played brilliantly, the only problem he seems to have is an inability to pass to his left, mind you when theres only vaealiki there may as well go himself. But i do agree Ian :eh: that on a couple of occasions he should have passed that ball to put us in with at least a chance.

Martin please tell me you are joking about Harrison Hansen. Did you see him miss Danny McGuire that was just awful and to be honest every time he gets the ball he worries me. But everyone has an opinion.

I agree with you Ian(novelty I know). Hansen did spew a few chances when he made the wrong decision with ball in hand, this is why in another thread I said that Hock and Flecther will both make a big difference to the team. Logan and Feka did play well, they are both lookig like good signings. As for the rest of your post, it's the same anti Millward jargon you've recycled for a while now, boring.

I think Hansen is improving all the time and seems stronger. I do not think he is what you would term a natural rugby player and therein is why people get annoyed when he is near the end of breaks and does not feed the outside runners quite as well as others can.

Do not bag the players too much. They are not that far off. Leeds are not a bunch of muppets.

Richards is doing fine at centre...he created 2 of our 3 tries tonight - the palm back for Tomkins and the kick through for Ashton. Defensively, he kept Senior quiet all game...what more does the guy have to do?
