bring back faz

Post by FROM A TO B »

Make him the highest paid water carrier in the league and then at least we'd have someone to b****k the players under the sticks.
It's seems painfully obvious that Lockers isn't ready for the captaincy yet and it's probably affecting his game.

No team spirit
No consistency
No pride
No understanding of the clubs motto
No 80 minute fitness
No inventiveness

Pulling on a Wigan shirt used to be an honour and a privalidge.
Warrior came
Warrior saw
Warrior conquered
Warrior came

It's Millward's job to brief and prepare the team and Locker's job to lead them. They shouldn't need an ex player to give them a roasting under the sticks. If the two of them can't do their respective jobs then it's time we got someone who can.

I didn't see any other candidates for captain last night, or any previous night. Even in recent years when Faz wasn't playing we never had anyone else who could boss the team in the way he did (perhaps the fact he towered above most of them at 6'4" and 17 stone added a bit to that!). Rads' game fell apart when he was captain, Newton never had the temperament... it's hard to tell if Moran's game was affected when he's been captain as there's never been any difference but he certainly was no captain. We've got to have someone, but there's nobody in the squad at the moment with the presence or voice to do the job if it's not Lockers (or perhaps Fletcher, but let's get him matchfit first). Lockers has at least got experience of captaincy at international level...

Going back to the original thread, I suspect a half-fit Faz would still be an improvement on some of what we've seen this year. He's played stand-off before...

I don't think Wigan need to spend any money what so ever to solve is problems it's all down to the using the right tactics in training and in games and Millward is messing it up big time.

If Millward gets sacked then I will forward my application to Wigan Warriors because although I have never coached a Rugby League team before I could do a better job than Millward is doing at the moment and my wages are less.

The obvious one is Fletcher. One of the few players who looked bothered was Orr so he might be a btter bet than Lockers.

Pulling on a Wigan shirt IS a honour and a privilege, I do mean a Blue and White Wigan Athletic shirt though.

What relevance has this got to Wigan RLFC? If you've nothing constructive to say then please go away nicely. We welcome Latics fans if they want to talk rugby (constructively), otherwise please go and find somewhere else as we're not interested here.

Seen Wigan twice this season, once at the Willows and cause I have a couple of friends who are Wigan fans I also went to the Leigh friendly. For me the captain is somes who wears his heart on his sleeve and gives 200% commitment every time he takes to the field. For me the only person who's shown these attributes week in week out is Mr Wayne Godwin. He is Wigans biggest asssett at the moment, without a shadow of a doubt. Forget all ur so called big stars......Wayne is the man. (Can we have him when ur finished with him......Pleeaaase !!)

I didn't mention Fletcher as I want him to get fully fit first, and also I don't want to post a "I said this months ago" type message as I suggested Fletcher as captain this year handing over to Lockers next.... :-)

Did you enjoy the Carling Cup final. Hope u had a nice day shame about the destruction you had by the Man Utd team.

Then again just making a final and surviving is good enough for you. Not challenging for honors for us is not on and the present situation is worsening every week.

But id excepect we will win a trophy and bring respect and glory to Wigan long before you will ever win anything.
