Senior Academy lose again

Post by adrenalinxx »

This time by Bradford Bulls 36-0, what is happening to Wigans academy sides. Aren't Wigan meant to have the best academy setup in the super league.

Strange that we were in the academy final when Lam was in charge - yet this season the academy are mirroring the senior side.

Since Farrar has been at the club we have been on the slide - he's done nothing here and our defence is woefull - time for him to go

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

The academy teams have suffered badly due to the demands on players for the first team and they released any U21s at the end of last season to push the U18 lads up into the 21s.

At the end of last season Wigan released a lot of quality Senior academy players. It was stated at the time that they had kept players that they should've released and let them players they should've kept go!!!! and people did ask if the powers that be had lost their minds!!!!
We had a very close Academy 18's included and the credit to that went to Lammy `(who was told in October befor the U21's academy grand final that his services were no longer needed) The 21's were at the top of the table for the whole of the season, no excuses yes Wigan have alot of U18's but they are experienced 18's and that progress is the same every year.
Are they up to the mark? this season will tell.

But on a good note (well NOT for Wigan) the lads that were released are having great seasons at their new clubs, all have settled in really well and proving popular with their new team mates. Oh and Warrington are top of league table so far (for their first time)

God only knows how this guy has avoided the sack.
Just what benefit has he ever been to Wigan? He was an overrated player, and as a defensive coach, well, don't make me laugh.
His face must fit with someone in the upper echelons. Our defence could not have been any worse for the past season and a half if my missus was coach. Definitely get rid!!
