o'Loughlin facing a ban?

Post by ian.birchall »

Woz9 on another topic says o'Loughlin tackles well. Talk about cloud cuckoo land. I was screaming at Lockers to tackle below the neck before the end of the first half. His technique has gone completely to pot, I lost count of the number of crunchies/slaps around the head he delivered today and that appalling tackle on the half way line with 2 minutes to go should have got an immediate red card and will probably end up with a 2/3 match ban and a £300 fine I would think.

He is normally a brilliant tackler but he has certainly been overstretching and trying far too hard (not a sin though given the antics of some) and yes he's been treading a fine line.

I think we made a huge mistake in not appealing re Fletcher. Catalan appealed for Chan and got it knocked down from 3 to 2 and Chan has been in trouble a few times.

I agree, I think he'll be facing a ban and a fine. If a player wears a cherry and white shirt it is always good for an extra match ban or so. Or am I just being paranoid?

Woz9 was implying how many tackles O'Loughlin does i think, which is true, he does an awful lot, however i agree he has gone off form a little, and is taking his frustrations out on the opposition, which is ultimatly not the way forward as it will lead to bans/fines, which is not what we need from out captain.

Atleast O'louhlin actually made a tackle, far to many missed tackles in the Quins match.

I don't thing that O'loughlin should get suspended there are high tackles in every match every week if they start handing out bans for just one high tackle then there would be hardly any players left without bans.

Good point. Was it put on report? If not he will probably get away with it as it wasn't a Sky game and so won't have had the Sky muppets blowing it out of proportion.

IMO it warranted being placed on report. Once again we are at the mercy of the tribunal.

Also, Lockers was consistently tackling high. I hope this isn't considered as a factor.

I didn't think it was particularly any worse than any of his other high shots, so I'm not really sure why the ref decided to put that one on report instead of any of the others. Although from the tv coverage on Friday he was going high then as well, it's something he needs to cut out of his game and maybe this will be a wake-up call.
