The 'Boys' will WIN the GF!

Post by Welski »

Have to admit I was one of those who doubted our ability to finish in the top 6 this year let alone reach the final. I am happy to say on recent showings it looks like I'll be proved wrong!
The 'team' is actually playing like one at the moment and less like a collection of individuals.
In the Edwards/Offiah/Clarke etc etc era Wigan used to be one of the most exciting teams to watch in any sport. With our recent reliance on imports who were past their best and an endless turnover of coaches its been very disjointed. I hate to say it but even Stains have been more inventive!!
With Rapers ability to mould 'raw' talent into an exciting attacking team and when the numerous walking wounded are fully fit I seriously think if we are up there at then end of the season then we will win the GF.
The only thing to stop us will be further injures particularly up front.

Have to admit i thought that we would struggle to make the top 4 thought we would just scrape top 6 but cant see any reason why we wont be hitting top 4 come the end of the season, after that who knows i honestly beleive anyone of the usual top 4 and Hull could be lifting the trophy at Old Trafford.

I dont know if we will win it this year put i'll put my house on Wigan doing the double next year. The way were playing is awsome for a team of 19 year olds and walking wounded. everyones always looking to offload or putting other players through gaps, it's excellent to watch. If the kids carry on like this they should all be signed up on 10 year deals ;0)

nah not this year i feel

but within the next couple of years as this youngsters grow, gain experience and the aussie signings are fased out of SL for just treu world class buys, NOBODY in SL will touch Wigan, we have to many potentailly world class players in the making that the likes of saints, bradofrd and hull can only dream of!

I think most of us were a littl esceptical about this season - no new signings and losing the experience of Furner and Connolly. I thought we could make the top 4 but was not confident of winning the GF. I was more hoping for a victorious trip to Cardiff. When the season started i feared the worst and started to wonder about making the 6. However after seeing the last 3 games i am now alot more optimistic.

No team has won the GF from outside the top 2 - this may be the year that changes. The way the kids are developing means that we must be in with a shout.

As for next year the cleaners will be busy with 2 cups to clean!!!!!!!!!!

don`t think we will win it this year, nor next.. but i think that 2005 will see the wigan side in full bloom.
but saying that if u make the top 6, anyone can beat anyone on any given day...

i have had faith in our lads from the start, i think those who think/thought that this side wouldnt make top 6 were a little justified as the perfomances were concering EVERYONE..
but since the semi at the mcalpine, we have been a different team..
& with the like of faz, cassidy, dallas & all the others to return we can only get stronger,
i`m excited bout the whole thing anyway...

anyone going to widnes sat? never been b4, & am planning to head up on sat..

I agree with AJ.

My view is that yes these youngsters are good players and yes they can play the game very well but they still need abit more experience before they go on to be world champions etc.
