Dean Bell Leaving (AGAIN!)

Post by wanny »

with not even 12 months past since NZ tried to poach Dean Bell, It has emerged that Sale Rugby Union are after him now? Just wondering if anyone else had heard this or could add further commment? I guess this again shows that union is incapable of producing anything other than annoying songs ( mainly sweet chariots).

i hope that we manage to keep him as he is doing a fantastic job and has a proven history of developing the young talent (leeds). I would also worry that is he were to go to kick and clap that he would come looking to recruit from his old familliar pastures.

Well i hope he doesnt leave as well. He is doing a GOOD job and in all honesty, if he turned down NewZealand the i cannot see him going to Sale.

Where has this come from?

I can't see it myself. Dean Bell is just not connected with the game of RU as far as I know. I suppose if they offered him twice his Wigan salary he might be tempted but I hope he values job satisfaction as much as the dosh and I can't see him getting much if he leaves with the job unfinished at Wigan.

If there is any truth in it I hope he refuses and I hope Sale and other RU clubs realise the best way to progess lon term is by growing your own and not feeding of others work.

It would be a different job as well. In Wigan he is surrounded by amateur teams with kids who want to play for Wigan RL. Whereas with Sale while there are a lot of RU sides in the area I just can't see it being the same sort of setup. Club RU is still very much amateur based outside of the top flight.
