VInnie Anderson

Post by Paul Farny »

Not one to start a rumour but I have been told today from a player within the wigan ranks that his signature will be announced later this week or early next week.

I think he will put more competition into our pack and put more pressure on tickle to produce the form he showed last season. Will be a good addition to our squad I feel . Your thoughts ?
R I P Penhead

Put on his wigan shirt , an he
walked into town
Sat down in a wigan rugby pub
at knocked his pint right down
Oh sean pennington, won't you look down over me
Yeah hes got a season ticket
An hes as true as a boy can be

Well hes walking in wigan
Walking with his famous cherry and white ,
Walking in Wigan
And we know hes gonna be all right.

He is a Saints cast off. If he arrives someone has go to leave.

The second row is well covered with Fletcher, Hock, Tickle, Hansen and Hill (the last one signed by Nobby) so Tickle has plenty of competition for his place already especially given Dobson can kick goals.

I don't see the point in this (potential) signing.

fair point , but the thing with nobby is he likes a huge pack and bases his tactics on power play... but by having a big pack they will get tired quicker and will need plenty of replacements. Just cant see it being tickle on his way out though.

I agree. I think Andersons utility value is the key and straight away he will increase competition in the back row and the centres. I also feel that Noble likes players who are mentally tough and have a broad skill base. Vinny Anderson is Paul Johnson on a budget!

Anderson has plenty of pace for a guy his size, and we all know he has good ball skills. It's just his up and down form that would worry me a little, he has the size, pace and skill to be a very good player. He just needs to produce the goods more often.

*Edit*
Just read on The Independant website, Daniel Anderson claims to know nothing of Vinnie's move to Wigan, he claims that he expects Vinnie to play alot more rugby for Saints this year.

Also, the article says we are poised to sign Leuluai for next season, as has been discussed aready. Johnson is off to Warrington.
Newton wants to stay at Bradford.

...and Warrington have released Lima so they can sign Morley if Roosters don't make the play-offs.
