2007 INS and OUTS

Post by Pies R Us »

So the season has finished and all the speculation over signings has begun!!

As I see it we are losing from our squad and from the salary cap:

Dallas, Dobson, Orr, Godwin, Tickle, Logan, Melling, Hargreaves and possibly Vaealiki and Sculthorpe.

If you believe all you hear, incoming will be:

Withers, Irenlie, Barratt, Leuluai, Manu, Millard and Fui Fui Moi Moi.

1). Is this feasible? and
2). Does this strengthen the team?.

I would be fairly happy, although goal-kicking would still be a major problem in my eyes.

if you belive all the rumours we'll have the biggest and strongest squad in the league. Don't know how we're gonna pay them all or get round the capping for them.
I don't want see Danny Orr go nor am i bothered if scully comes back.
It's just silly season and we'll have to wait and see what turns out to be true.

Then we can have a good moan.

Maybe not keeping scully the only loan-ees Nobby wants back are Gleeson and Prescot, that includes scully in the mix. He genuinely doesnt seem to want to come back, Wignes are after signing him up was the last i heard.

Rumours Rumours Rumours Rumours
why can we not wait and see who is coming i think all will come to light in the next few weeks .
There are some players out of contract and some who need improved contracts which need to be addressed first and foremost .
We must put our trust in Nobby who he brings in whoever comes in Nobbys eyes will improve the squad.

This is a new one on me...but if true this would be a great signing for Wigan and the sport.

The guy is made for league - Big, very quick and powerful, a running centre. He is constantly (rather bizarrely) overlooked for the RU England squad. Maybe this is behind the rumours of him moving to RL.

Anyone got anything to back this one up?

Why are we gonna buy him when Shaun Edwards is there at Wasps? He has said countless times he should play for England RU and Wasps have just sold one of their centres to Quins RU, so highly unlikely given his talent.

Plus we have Mcavoy and Bailey next year and until he goes Vaeliki and possibly Gleeson and Goulding as well. Would be a good signing, but we need a winger more realistically.

I would have thought that made it more likely?

If the lad is disgruntled at not progressing and is maybe looking for 'a new challenge' the Edwards link to Wigan would make a move more logical.

Although I do agree its not an area we are struggling in at the moment. Maybe Noble is looking to mould the right player into a Leslie Vainokolo style winger.

We are talking pure rumour it has to be said but at least it passes the day!
